Well, lets get some more feedback.
It looks like were going to do the dunes.
Looking at the weather: historically the wind is usually around 10mph and high temps is in the high 50's to low 60s so that sounds good.
Only two good hotels show up on the search, and they are around $100 night.

Who is in? Friday & Saturday in the hotel? If you want to share a room, post that too.

I am pretty sure you can count me and Shari In. Although we might just drive up early Sat morning. I will talk to her and see what she wants to do. And with both Interstates right there Expand the search another 10 miles might show some more results. Would be nice to have a pool and/or hot tub. I will do a little searching and see what else there is. There is also a nice campground at the dunes. Would be perfect weather for camping. Quick note: no alcohol at the camp ground. Don't ask how I am so sure of that!

I will make it, most likely for both days but at least for one.

My wife and I are checking our schedule. Would be nice to meet a few more of you, and we're fans of the dunes.

We could start working on dates though.
Chicago Kite has a couple small fests the first weekend of October; 180GO! has a small festival the second weekend; so how does the weekend of October 15-16 work for people?

And . . . I may have to go out of town for work that weekend or the following weekend. I'll know more about my schedule in a couple weeks, but a trip that was supposed to happen in September has now pushed to October at the earliest. Since the destination is looking like the dunes, I'll just play it by ear and show up if the retreat comes together.

If it rains, who wants to build a kite? Any project ideas that could be completed in a day or less? Who can lead the session? We should probably be chiming in so we can get a materials list together, etc.
