Sorry Deano, Sunday was beautiful.

Here's a couple photos that a spectator emailed to me.

Here's a couple more photos. These were sent by Steve.

This is Steve. A resemblance to his choice of Rok?

Mad Hatters Attack Kite Fest

Postby RevJB » Mon, Sep 27 2010, 04:12 PM

Here is proof that kiters are mad as Hatters

It also appears they have a tendency to lean to the left.

Some single-line fliers are afraid to show their face. Apparently this one is a recovering Rev-aholic

Image

Let's hope he gets some help, or at least some gloves for handling the lines. :rotfl

Edit: Forget to mention this photo courtesy of Quad-City Times. So this flyer is famous.

Well, Saturday did have a lot of the characteristics of a good day duck hunting., so the camo rain gear felt just right Geez!

Recovering? Nope, just expanding the fun of kite flying. Like everything else in kiting, gloves are open for discussion. Some love them others hate them. I'm still learning ...

Got to give James and Jennifer very high marks for assembling a fantastic family kite festival. My grand kids were kept interested and entertained all day Sunday. If you have young kids, this festival SHOULD be on your calendar for next year. Now, as to the weather, James will have to work on that a little bit.

Cheers,
Tom

Great festival two years running. Hats off (with or without cat) to James for a putting this all together.

From a kiters perspective: Very nice hospitality. Nice, taped-off fields with plenty of room for demos and serious flyers. Parking near fields for kiters.

From a visitor perspective: Plenty for familes to do. Bounce house for kids, Rides on fire truck ladder bucket, Nice give-away kites, Plenty of crafts for kids. Multiple local mascots plus Cat in the Hat and story time. Audience participation Bol races and Rok battles. 180GO! demos throughout the day.

:thanks: James!

Thanks to everyone who made it for this crazy weekend! Even with the not so great weather it was a fun weekend.

Besides I would much rather get a little wet on day 1 and dry out day2.

Could not have pulled it off without each of you. Just amazed at how much help you all are and looking forward to flying soon, even if my wife makes me promise every year not to talk kites for a wile after fest.

I will be posting pictures and stuff soon.

Thanks again! -james

Haven't had time to select best pictures, downsize, and send.

Next best thing: Zipped into one large file accessible at http://www.filedropper.com/qcpics

As a teaser, 180GO! and Paul are well represented.

I like getting the full-sized photos, so this is better for me anyway.
