Two Rivers Fest.

Postby Darkspark » Tue, Jul 13 2010, 06:41 PM

Shari and I have heard so many good things about Two Rivers we are planning on going this year. Does anybody recommend a hotel that's near by? Anyone else planning on going? I know its a ways away, but Shari is insisting on planning way ahead. :-D

I've missed the past couple years, but I'll be at this one.
According to an email from the organizer, the kiters HQ will be the Holiday Inn in Manitowoc.

It's been a different place every year until this one. I was hoping for the Lighthouse Hotel this year since it's nice and close.

The Holiday Inn in Manitowoc is a great place with a huge area in the middle of the hotel to fly indoor kites. The rooms are very nice and the staff is excellent, it is worth the extra drive to stay here.

Yep ... call the hotel directly at 1-920-682-6000 and ask for the Kite Festival rate. It was/is $79.00.

Cheers,
Tom

Dayton David will be in the House!! ...or should I say the Inn, as in Holiday. Yes the rate is still $79, just reserved my room. Really looking forward to more good times with the IKE crew, new friends, fireworks (maybe with less fallout), and kites - yea, I still fly 'em. I'm planning to get into town Friday afternoon and hit the beach.

Cool! It'll be great with you there. Looks like there will be quite a few "non-pro" Rev fliers there this year.

Last year I was the only kite flier on the beach Friday afternoon! Was concerned that, I was at the wrong beach!

Cheers,
Tom

The fest was a blast, the friends were better, and the indoor rev and me are now mortal enemies. All said, it was a great weekend. For once Shari came back looking more like a raccoon than me. Pics are on my facebook page. If you are not my fb friend send me a request.

Mikey Devereaux, Kankakee Il.

Tom, Shari got a really good pic of you on the beach with your Mc kite.

Can't wait to do it all again soon!

That page took a long time for me to load, so here's the photos of us. Apparently Jeff and David were looking particularly good on Sunday.

From Dawson of the local library:

Thanks for a great show! Two Rivers appreciates your annual visits.

Here are links to a couple 180 Go! videos shot by my wife (she apologizes ahead of time for a shaky hand ;>)

Bright Sunshiny Day

Bohemian Like You

and of course photos from Kites Over Lake Michigan

He has some fantastic photos of the festival, be sure to check 'em out.

Look at the cool shirts they gave us. Tie-Dye with 180 GO! printed on the back!
