2010: Kite Party 8. Huntington Beach, CA. Mar 13-14

Postby Mike » Thu, Jan 07 2010, 05:00 PM

I moved the conversation that started earlier to this thread.

Look at past posts for previous years and the IKElopedia for more info. Also Mike MacDonald's page here.
Looks like a smaller IKE turnout this year, but those not going will be missing out on lots of warm weather fun.

(Edit: I changed the post date so that this entry will be at the start of this thread. Actually posted on 1/29/10 at 16:30)

Kite Party 8

Wow, no chatter about KP8?

Will there be a lot of red shirts on the beach this year?

I dunno, I'm undecided.
I want to be able to attend another big festival this year, maybe Wildwood or WISKF.

How about the rest of you?

We'll be there for sure, but we live very close.

Mike, if you do come, you can wear your red IKE shirt twice!

I'm sure you know why, care to explain?

Would love to see you all again: Really love to. Still have the red shirt (Thx Mike) and everything.

Unfortunately work precludes the possibility of me coming. I may well be in california a few weeks later but that will be some little hilly place with out decent beaches, San Francis I believe it is called. I have to be elsewhere for KP8. :(

Probably not in the cards for me this year.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

IKE is on Image too!

Ummm, is it because I forgot my shirt for the San Diego fly? I'm not on the video, so no one knows.

My race arrives there in early April, about the 7th (although that is approximate).

@ MIke - I know there are several people over here who would like to take a trip over, but some are doing other big trips this year while others are struggling personally struggling with the recession (out of work or what have you). For my part, I am all over the place until July, so another foreign trip this year is not as appealing as it otherwise might be. That said, one would hope that 2011 would be better......

Bummer for sure. :(

For anyone who IS coming, I'm looking to split a room at the HoJos with someone. Past roommates Isaac & Jeff aren't coming this year, but I'm not taking it personally.

I have my tickets, I'm now an anti-party-pooper.
It turns out that I have to go out there to get my Dad's house ready to sell, so I'll just pack a couple kites for the trip. :)
I'll be staying at my in-laws, so I wont need a hotel room.
