Color The Wind is a 1 day festival on a frozen lake. Lots of show kites, "Fire and Ice" (Paul Koepke and Kathy Brinnehl), and 180GO! members Mike S., Isaac, Rose and I will be there.
This will be my first time for this festival. It should be fun!

When I was in Puerto Rico several years ago, the tourism people were putting the frogs in all their literature. Pretty interesting that they don't do the tadpole stage.

Jynx, you may be in warm weather, but you missed some good times in Iowa!

Warning: the video has some disturbing shots of me twitching around while old-timey music is playing on the PA. I didn't know Jen's camera took video.

Wow,  you got a picture of the elusive bigfoot Mike S ... I thought he was only a fable!!!

Some other album links have sprung up over on Kitebuilder.  There are pictures of several interesting wind instruments.  Did anyone get to listen to them?

I figured that this was supposed to make sound, but I couldn't hear anything from the demo field. I never went up real close to it though.

A quiet wind instrument is my favorite kind though :)
I mean, I actually do like them, but if you have to stand near them and listen for an extended period of time, they can drive you insane and make your ears bleed.
I'm just sayin'

James and Jen did a nice job of capturing the event. It gives a good feel of what a kite fest is for me.

I know we had a GREAT time even though we were playing with the camera rather than flying.  Im glad the video turned out good!  considering when shooting the action in the air I could not see the kites on the little screen.     I knew they were there so i kept rolling...
It was a great day for being out on the lake and it will be one for next year.

Had a great time.  Sign me up next year for sure.
