2009:Oswego Earth Day Kite Festival - April 18, 2009

Here's the information from last year:
http://www.ikeclub.org/wiki/Earth_Day_Oswego_2008

It's kind of a club fly. There's no sound system or announcing or a roped off area.
We just fly kites and make a pretty background for the rest of their Earth Day activities.

Kiters usually show up in the morning and fly all day.

The organizer is willing to buy pizza for anyone who wants to stay late and do a night fly.

This is the same day as Drumshow for me. I can stay until about 1:30pm or so..

It's a looong drive for me, but I already told them I'd be coming.
I'll be interested to see if this other event on the same day turns into something:

It's much closer to me :)

It was great seeing the turnout of fliers. At one point, we were flying a team of 8 revs. A mix of 180GO! and other IKE members.
A couple dualies were up in the air off and on too. We had some nice fish banners, but the wind was too up and down for most single lines. Ken's single line Skate was the exception and looked great.

It was nice meeting RevChris and family, as well as seeing Dave from Ohio again.

See folks next weekend in Decatur!

We also had a good time playing Shoot the Screaming Flying Monkey into the Fish.

Considering the ups and down of the winds (what a suprized) of mother nature, it was a nice turn out of spectators through out the day. Dinner was nice as always and having time to chat with RevChris with his dad and sister was a warm welcome of some new faces to the club.

The eight man team flying was at times challenging but fun none the less. Was nice to see Chris B.and Chris R. out in a field with us again as well as Issac. Its been way too long of time from not seeing them.

See everyone next weekend out in Decatur.

it was fun... too short of a time for me but we played Drumshow to over 2500 people over 3 shows and it went off without a hitch..

Flying the 8 man team in those crappy winds was a bit of a challenge but was a great time.

That's not code for a new team move, that's what they were actually doing. :-D

hey gang,
Had great time! Thanks for making me feel so welcomed.
Wish I could have stayed for dinner but just wanted to get back before midnight.
The 5-1/2 hour drive home only seemed like 10.
Would really like to see the picture of the 8-rev ball we held low to the ground. And any other pictures of the day.
Until next time, Rev UP!
