The wind was not great Thursday, but quite a few more people arrived:

We are back and we arrived home late last night. We had a truly awesome time. A BIG Thanks to Mike K and Jim and Lynn for getting me and my family from the Airport to Huntington Beach and back to the airport yesterday. Enjoyed meeting Big Bri and his wife Debbie as well as Jeremy from England. Thanks to Dave and the Kite Connection for putting on a wonderful event. If you have not been able to make this event before, you should try and make it next year. Huntington Beach offers so much to do within walking distance and is alot of fun for all.

We had some of the best winds and there were some of the best flyers we've ever seen there.

Thanks Dave for putting on such a great event.

Hi all you IKErs. Great to see you at KP. Sorry I wasn't more sociable, I was feeling under the weather most of the time.

I managed to have some fun regardless of the headache. :-D

A big thank you to Jeff for splitting a room at the luxurious HoJos.

Hope to see you all next year.

My pleasure, Allen.

Hey everybody, if you've got pictures or video, put them up in an album on one of the sharing sites and I'll link to them on our festival recap page.

It helps to tag the pics too. I've been using kiteparty7 as a tag.

I'm collecting the material as I find it. Check out the page...

Dave you did a GREAT job again this year too!!!

and my wife Kris made it through her maiden airline flight with FLYING COLORS!!! She even took the window seat back home. Winds were even good on the trip back home too, we arrived an HOUR early.

Yep, my kite... but the megafly piloting credit goes to Jeepster!
If it was me it would have been titled... mega-spaghetti!

The artistic side says; "I love that picture ... the kite, the lines, the sky ... wow!"

The engineering side (which is what I was thinking as we were flying) says; "Eleven line sets at approximately $60 per set is $660 ... please God don't let me screw up!!"

Jynx, thanks for the chance to be a part of that fly. With my SUL and the winds the way they were, it would have been much more difficult ... that mega-fly was almost fun. The mid vent really takes the edge off bumps in the sky ... mine should be at home when we return home in a few weeks.

Cheers,
Tom

Hey guys, while looking for videos from Kite Party, I found this one I hadn't seen before.

This is from last year's Kite Party 6. It's footage of us and iQuad and others flying together with our brand new team kites.

I'm a little embarrassed about how awkward my flying was at times, but at least I can see the improvement I've made.

Great job Jeff. It's funny how quickly you learn to recognize who's flying by their kite. It's almost like the kite is an extension of the person.

Oh, and I loved how the background sound captured the true kite party ... country music and all!!!

Cheers,
Tom
