I'll have to pass on this one. We'll be in Traverse City, Michigan, so all of Lake Michigan will be between the festival and my bed. Plan on taking my kites along and will fly one on New Years Day in support of other [strike]crazies[/strike] kite flyers.

Cheers,
Tom

By the way, Mike is quoting the press release. I don't think he would really say, "It doesn't get any better than this" about winter flying. :P

I'll be there, unless there is a rain storm or something. I haven't flown since our last team practice. :(

Jeff,

I see you've made a correction to your post ... when it first appeared it said "It doesn't get any netter than this" about winter flying. That actually may have been a Freudian slip since my Urban Dictionary defines "Netter" as "A person of questionable intelligence or an act of stupidity." Hmmm.

Actually, if we weren't going to Michigan, we'd try for Milwaukee too.

Cheers,
Tom

It doesn't look that cold this year but maybe a little snowy:
New Year's Day: A 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 27. South wind around 15 mph.

I'll be in Chicago for New Years Day. If it's nice I'll go and fly at Northerly Island.

Looks like tomorrow will be quite nice, as winter days go.

I'm sorry we'll miss you this time, Isaac.

Hopefully we'll have at least a few Rev fliers. I expect to see Jynxx out there, and Brett Williams of course. At Mots I showed Brett a few team maneuvers. Maybe he'll want to do some more of that.

I'll be starting my New Year off traditionally by going out to fly today.
I like the way I did it last year (in San Diego), but this year Champaign will have to do. Milwaukee will have to wait for another year.

Happy New Year everyone! Somewhere around this forum is a history of the founding of the club. Is this our 3rd year?
Each year gets better, so here's to an even better year for the club!

We'll miss you in San Diego, Mike. Last year was truly fun.

Yesterday Lynn and I flew at the Hilton for five hours. The last two hours, with John Mason and, Tom King. Ron Despojado also joined us for a time.

Sun and nice wind. This morning there is fog, but probably be gone around 10.

Have a Happy New Year.........

Lynn and Jim :revspin: :revspin:

The 3rd year actually started on October 14th which is the anniversary of the Naperville Kite Festival where Mike brought up the idea of a club..

Happy New Year!

It was great to meet you and fly with everybody there.

Brett and Dan Jones and I did a little 3 man team flying. :)

Channels 6 and 12 were out there filming earlier, I'll have to scrounge around and see if I made any of their video segments.

There was a pretty nice turnout today. Even non-flyers out watching us and the ice carvers. Man, I can't wait for the season. I'm all pumped up now!!!

By the way...nobody tell Jynx...I put her mid-vent Rev in my bag.

Just kidding. :P

It's a great kite, though. Really nice for that wind in between standard and full vent. And the colors...really pops, especially on an overcast day.

Who are the people flying in the photo?

Mike ~
You recognized the goose poop but didn't recognize Jeff? Hummmm...

(The others are Milwaukee flyers, Brett, Gino, and Dan)

The photo of the three is the impromptu team of me, Brett and Dan Jones.

Edit: That's the shots later on. The first group does indeed have Gino instead of Dan.
