It's not always possible, to work around every schedule that might effect it.

I certainly understand that.

But I'm begging you, on my knees...pleeeeeease, pretty please try to avoid Labor Day weekend and Mots. I hope the organizing committee treats the kiters as a resource the same as the field, the DJ, the food vendors, etc., and at least knowingly takes that into consideration when making a decision.

By the way Mike, UFO's website does say that KOLM 2008 will be Labor Day weekend again.

http://www.uniqueflyingobjects.com/news.html
"We will be planning for our 3rd Annual Kites Over Lkae Michigan soon and make sure to mark your calendar down for Labor Day Weekend 2008."

I've also added the festivals to my IKE calendar on Google.

If you use Google Calendar, you can subscribe to it and have it automatically appear on your own calendar view.
Go to Settings>Calendars>Add Calendar and search for "IKE Calendar"

If you don't want to or don't use Google calendar, you can still view it in your browser by clicking the link in my signature.

When we get the new version of the forum software set up this winter, we will add a link to the Google Calendar. Nice work Jeff.
We should also add a link to the map and flickr page to our forum pages too

Eventually, it would be nice to add a link to a map and festival website to the calendar entries. We can add it under "more details."
Again, nice work.

A neat thing about the map, it also gives you code for embedding it right on a web page.

And did you notice the "Easter eggs" in the map?

Perry Farms will not be on Father's Day this year. There is something else scheduled on that day for the park. It will probably be later in the summer, maybe late August.

A couple of us will be meeting with Tom Schelling, the organizer of the event. I'll keep you informed.
If any one has anything they want to suggest for Perry Farms, please send me a PM rather than posting here.

Mike,

The date you have listed for "Color the Wind" is incorrect. It'll be taking place on Saturday, Feb. 16th...not on Sunday the 17th.

Also, if you would....please post the Fish Creek Kite Company's "Kites Over the Bay" event. It's two days, February 9-10th. We'll be flying just off of the main drag in Fish Creek, WI (Door County). Assuming we have ice of course!!

merry Christmas everyone!

Jeff, it's done.

In the future, it's best if people email or PM me any festivals they want listed. I occasionally miss a post. Also, include web links for more information.

Even more important, email me if you want :Logo180GO!: to be at a festival. We've been practicing this winter and we're looking great. We'll put on an exciting, entertaining show on and off the demo field. When we're not performing in the demo area, we'll still be flying and showing people how much fun it is fly quads.

There is a kite fest in Milwaukee on New Years Day. I know 180 Go is welcome to do a Demo.

I won't be here and Babb hasn't done any calling yet, so this may have to wait. We'll have Babb call at the next practice.
