New date for DeKalb OCT 5th 2008

Postby Frodos Majik » Wed, Sep 17 2008, 10:56 PM

Here is a new posting started for the DeKalb festival...

The festival was rained out. The rain date is now Oct. 5th.
Lets get a new head count started to see who all can make it.

I am in, how many 180Go! team members can make it. I will have all the team equipment with me. Can we get at least three more team flyers? I would REALLY love to perform for the crowds again this year!! They really loved us last year, before we were really known as 180Go!

As was posted else where this is the 3rd annual event for DeKalb and has gotten bigger each year. Another one NOT to miss!

So whose in? and dont forget to send your bios to Draftnik for any new attendees.
mine will be on the way Draftnik.

Ken,

If it's a head count for all IKE members, I'll be missing. Sorry, will be in the UP that weekend.

If it's a head count for 180GO! members, I'll still be missing ... maybe someday!

Cheers,
Tom

I think I'm good to go.

I don't really know about the bio thing though...I think name and city are enough for me. Honestly, I thought it was a bit much to have an entire paragraph read for each person and the club every time they were on the field last year. They were too long and repeated a lot of the same stuff. Short and sweet I'd say. Or, just read the long bio one time, and simply introduce by name after that.

I would have enjoyed going to this one, but I'm sorry to say I'll be at the Niagara Falls festival on that weekend.

Oh, i guess we'll be there....lol.

After all, it's only 10 miles away!

I've almost gotten all my kites repaired from Naperville and Chillicothe so i might even get to fly something.

Kwel we have three 180Go! team flyers for sure so far. So Draftnik/Dave please put us in the line up for demos.
It will also be nice to see the flyers and freinds that have not been able to make it to some of the other festivals for one reason or another.

I'd be happy to help out with some individual demos if needed.

It's time to break out those 100 foot tails.

The 'show and tell' is on again this year. Bring a kite you'd like to share. This is just for fun and you don't have to fly it. It can be anything you'd like from your collection. Something we don't get see often, a new creation, or a kite with a good story to go along with it. It doens't even have to be a kite, it can be a line winder or aeloian, or ground display piece.

We'll meet on the field at 10am to do this and do the safety meeting as well at the same time.

I am going to try and make it. The 5th was booked up for me a month or so ago... Didn't expect to get 2 hurricanes come over us and make us take a rain date!
