New Team Banner--what do you think?

Postby Mike » Sun, Jul 08 2012, 11:45 AM

David Kovacs came up with this design. The banner would be 10' tall and 3' wide and mounted on a 13' pole.
I played a bit with the logo.
I am completely open to any and all suggestions / contributions.

Anyone have a photo of Ben's revolution banner? I think it has masterpiece kites on it?

For completeness sake, here's the banner in white:

I really like the white. I was going to recommend it until I scrolled down and it was already on there.

I like the white as well. I think it's cleaner looking overall, and more consistent with the team colors.

David said he's going to sew it, though he may send it to me to appliqué the logo.
Wish him luck!

Banner update.
I have printed the team logo on paper, 30"x 12", to make templates to cut out the letters/numbers/swoosh/etc.
heading out to get poster board. Should start cutting nylon tomorrow.

Banner update:
Team kite skins and white triangles cut out. Yes, there will be six, my table can only fit 4 at a time. Next comes taping each section together onto white ripstop....

Pretty kites. Though I don't think you need the white triangles since it's going on to a white background?

Maybe he's going to cut away the background so that the kites are seen on both sides. Maybe it's easier to make the mini kites first rather than sew a wedge from the banner to the kite. Or . . . maybe he's using the pattern to make a tiny Rev "4" stack of kites.

My way is much more wasteful of the white material, but I would sew the colored portion of the kites onto the white background and then cut away the backside of the colors. Though I do like the Rev 4 idea too.
