The alternating colors may make us re-think things like 1x2x1. The kites colors line up in an unusual way.

This is how I would normally have thought to do this move.

But lets go back to designing kites...

I was meaning triangle #4. So the left wing has the logo going up at an angle, in a white background. I don't have any tallent other than crayons to illustrate it.

You beat me to it, and I must say yours looks much prettier and exactly what I had in my head.

Don't forget how poorly the anniversary kite flew with it's asymmetrical panels ...

It wouldn't be asymmetrical. It could be made with the standard 1.5 pattern. You wouldn't be able to tell the seam was there, the paint would lay right over the top of the seam. And the paint adds no weight. If you wanted to screen the logo on, then the seam would be a problem. The question is would the logo be visible at the distances it would be used? It sure would look good close up and on film and in photos.

I agree with Mikey that the logo will be hard to see at a distance. Why not use just the lower white triangle (#3) for the logo? Still looks good up close.

Mike,

Awesome seeing the kites in motion. Thanks for quick response. Can you do the twin radar with the "arrow" kites?

Not a fan of the big logo. Looks like a NASCAR car. Plus, we'd be competing with the Rev logo itself.

A small unobtrusive logo is fine, but I think a big one interferes with the pattern rather than enhances it.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

Here's a couple endlessly running animations. To keep it from making you batty, right click on the animation and choose from the standard flash menu. Check/Uncheck "Play" or "Loop".
This gives an idea of a striped vs solid kite.
(my apologies for the flash of white between the loops)

If you'd like to watch the animations larger or smaller, click on the links and the animation will fill the size of your window. Make your window smaller or larger to change the size of the animation.

Point taken. Any ideas about the pattern itself? Which do you prefer?

Still noodling it over. Haven't been able to spend a lot of time on it yet.

But I think I like having white as a component in there rather than not at all.

As a member of the crowd, I like the triangles best!

Mike,

Just realized that the solid kites (black w/ red center type) remind me of a professor's bow tie.

How about animating Spiderman?

Whatever the final kite turns out to look like, I find the two different base colors mesmerizing in the animations. Love the way they pair up then alternate. I cant leave this thread open on my computer, i just keep staring at the screen and completely forget what I was doing.

yea Mikey, it is hypnotizing....kinda reminds me of watching a saltwater taffy machine. Anyone else?
Mr. Kory...could you please make an animation with an assymetrical layout? I've been wanting to see how they look when lined up vertically and doing the Benifits move.

Tom is referring to a piece of music that 180GO! is going to choreograph. Tom, doing the animations would take a long, long time and the return would not worth the work.
The animations above were already done and I just changed the kites.

Return to “180GO!”
