Keep in mind that in real life, the kites don't pivot around each other perfectly lining up their stripes and such. Not yet anyway.

Now y'all can open the three long running animations in separate tabs on your browser by clicking on these links.
Most web browsers let you right-click on a link and choose to open the link in a new tab.

We've got three basic ideas:

A mostly solid colored kite.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/539126/sample-moves1.swf

A symmetrical, striped kite.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/539126/sample-moves2.swf

A mostly solid color on one half, and striped on the other half.

Which basic style do you prefer?

About 20 different IKErs have looked at these posts today, I'd like at least 20 votes if possible. Please give an opinion, even if you live, say, out in one of the the desert states, or in California. :thanks:

I like the asymmetrical as an individual kite. I think it looks very cool. But in the animations they don't have the pop the striped kites have.
If it was a personal kite i would pick the asymmetrical with the logo, but as a whole formation, the stripped kites look great.
I vote striped.

A desert state response

I liked the third example:
A mostly solid color on one half, and striped on the other half.

I see what your saying about the stripes but the asymmetry has a new edgy thing going on... try this one

Mike,
Very cool animations. I like the ability to do full screen.

FYI
Most browsers will open a link in a new tab with a middle button click. Saves a click and is really fast for opening multiple links on a given page.

My vote is for symmetrical red/white and black/white. When I looked at the monitor from across the room, the differences were still noticeable and the kites seemed to show more motion. I think the alternating white and color causes a "flickering" that catches the eye more.

Second palace is asymmetrical, aka "TEST"

These get my vote. Adding the extra triangle on the other side, like the ones with the logo, takes away from the design imho

I do like REVJB's first choice for the same reason about showing motion, but I think that it looks a little too much like a standard rev you could purchase.

I'm not sure that there's enough difference between the two kites in that version though...

Well, the red and black kites with the white stripes (v3) I like too, I'm just not crazy about the triangle on the other side

While I understand that version A looks pretty much like the stock kite, I still tend towards that one.

A or B?

How about "A" for the standard sails, and for the vented kite we use either the kites in post #5 or #6?

Why would the vented kites need to be a different pattern? Aren't our current vented kites striped like these?

Also, I'm all about option B. ...anyone with me and kiteking?

Well here’s go my two cents worth, B looks allot like another Quad team who name I will not mention (light on one side dark on the other). A looks like any other stock rev, so if they were the only chose’s I would have to say A.

OK,

Another variation on a theme reacting to Big Mike's comments.

Image : A1

Does this keep them looking distinct from a distance, but not your ordinary Rev?

Asymmetric version:

Image : A2

I think I like A2 the best. Adding the 180 Go! logo in panel #3 will also help with creating a custom image.

OK, I'm not sure. I think I need to see them in motion to decide.

Mike (not Big Mike), is Flash easy to learn?

Well the votes seem to be mostly split between A & B with some leaning towards the kite in post #23, this one:
Image
A & B are on the previous page.

Let me hear one final time from next years active 180GO members:
Mike, Rose, Isaac, Jeff, David.

The rest of you can chime in too, of course.
