180GO T-Shirts
180GO T-Shirts
Some rough ideas on 180GO! T-Shirts:

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
I haven't figured out the fronts of the shirts yet.
Cafe press doesn't print on the back of solid colored shirts. So for solid colors we'll have to get them printed at a local shop (like our other club shirts).
A small run of shirts will be more expensive.
Shirt #1 has the option of coloring the kite according to the flier. I don't know how much this will cost.
Shirt #2 (white lettering) would be the cheapest since it's only one color. All shirts would be identical.
Shirt #3, the white colored shirt, could be ordered thru cafe press and the kite could be customized to each flier. The color of the kite could vary and we could have our names on the front.
I'd like the idea of red shirts so that we are still identifiable as a member of IKE.
I'd like to have 180GO! shirts for our supporters too. My wife would like one
I want these shirts by Naperville if possible, so I need to decide on a design quickly.

Thoughts and opinions?
I'd like to hear from non-180GO! members about the red-shirt / white-shirt deal.
I'm open to design ideas.

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
I like #3 cause it's simple and more easily customizable.
I don't like #2.
#1 is also ok and keeps us looking like IKE club members.
If I had to choose just one, it would be #3.

I'll vote for option #1 however I don't need the kite a different color .
I'd recomend not going with Cafe Press. The Sea Devil shirt I ordered was way cheap and fadded quickly.

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
All the iQuad gear is from CafePress and has held up fine.
I have some personal gear that has held up too.
The white shirts from CafePress will do overnight shipping for $20 + $5 per item. So for a white tagless T-shirt, delivered in time for this weekend, it would be approx $17 + 5 = $22 per t-shirt. (I'll kick in the $20 flat rate shipping)
For a red shirt, my local printer would have to get the shirts in. I doubt he has them in stock. I would hope to get them in time for Naperville.
I lean towards option #1 myself.

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
I like #3 the best. I think the logo just looks better against white. I understand the desire for the red shirt, but from a purely aesthetic judgment, white looks better to me. It pops better against a white backdrop.
Given the red options, I might actually prefer #2. I'm not 100% on the large white oval. It seems..out of balance, or something.
BTW, the different colored kites is an interesting idea, but some colors will look better than others, especially if it's going to be paired with a primarily red shirt. I'd say let's stick with the color on the official logo.

agree, and I want to color the kite to identify flier with kite in the crowds.

Keep thinking about the t-shirts.
Saturday night, in Pontiac, we'll get together and figure out what we want.
Bring any ideas you have, either sketched on paper or in digital format on a memory stick. I'll have a laptop.

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
I'll be happy with anything as long as it's available as a golf/polo shirt.

Sorry I missed out on the shirt discussion. For what it's worth, I like #3 the best.

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
thanks shawn.
I'm going to do another set of shirts in red though.
I'm thinking of having IKE and "Illinois Kite Enthusiasts" (instead of the web address) on the back, and the 180GO! logo on the front.
We'll wear the red shirts at events like this, and the white ones where we are flying separately from the club--like at the Lisle balloon festival.

Can the red shirts be gotten in a slightly lighter weight material? The current ones we have can be pretty hot on a weekend like we just had.
BTW, I had the cash for the team shirts, and then forgot to give it to you...I can send it along via Paypal...

I like the feel of the heavyweight cotton myself.
If I place the order from the local printer here in town, each person can choose whatever shirt/polo/lightweight/heavyweight they want. It's the quantity of items with the same design that determine the discount, it doesn't matter if each item is different. I don't think we'll get much of a discount with a small order though. I'll talk to them this week and bring a catalog of clothing options on Sunday.

I thought you said on sunday that it was going to have 180 Go! on the back in and the IKE logo on the front? I think it would be better that way.

Desicions, desicions...It's easy for me since I am not a member of the 180 Go team, but I really like the white shirt, and you guys can wear red pants or shorts for summer time,
Honestly white for me, It gives more...hmmm...character to the person. 180 go in the back, person's name in the front left side and Ike logo on the right. Hmmm. Just like uniforms.

Re: 180GO T-Shirts
We made white shirts and wore them last weekend.
Did anyone get a photo of us wearing them?
Here's a photo of just the shirts. It shows the back of my shirt and the front of Ken's.

We're going to have both white and red shirts. White for when it's just 180GO! at an event, and red when we are flying with the rest of the IKE peoples.
