What about doing some patches?
just quoted me the following...
50-3" Embrodiered Patches with IKE logo on them $2.58 each (or $129.00 w/.06 ea added for heat seal backing for the lot). 50 was the first of the price breaks.
What think you, my friends?

Patches?! We don't need no stinking patches!!!
OK, someone had to get that out of the way.
I think it's a good idea. I'd get a couple. Maybe put one on a cap. (A better cap than what they show on their website, though.)

Would that include the text that says Illinois Kite Enthusiasts?
If so, it seems a 3" patch would measure about 2.7" x 3.3"
That might be too tall for a hat, but right for a jacket.
Looking at the website, it's $129 for 50
or $158 for 100
or $210 for 200
We might want to go for $158 for 100.

The logo I sent in for pricing has a white border with the words Illinois Kite Enthusiasts in it. I believe it's an offical IKE logo. Will check to confirm that before ordering. Also looked like the corners of the square are rounded, and that's something else I'll look into if we do this.

I would be in for a few too.
Keep us posted Draftnik. Great idea.

People seem to either love or hate patches, I don't love them. I have patches from three continents thrown in misc. drawers and boxes. It seems someone mayget stuck with a whole lot of patches.

I'm not a patch person, you have to find something to look right with it. Unless you sew it, it comes off in the wash. The Girl Scout brownie days did me in with all the patches I would spend hours sewing instead of sleeping. I swear they got a new patch everytime they took a breath.
What about bumper stickers - would promote IKE. or a small kite that fly's off the car antenna?

I'd be in for a few too Drafty, cool idea!
I'm going to make a few kite bags this winter and they'd look cool with the patch!

I believe there's enough interest in these to get them ordered. It might be nice to have for the club gathering end of this month if possible. Anyone want to get them ordered, or did I volunteer to do this by suggestiong it?

Need approval for this logo, not sure where I got it. I think the text on the outside needs to be in black. Should it be on all 4 sides too?

the logo can be downloaded in Adobe Illustrator format here:
http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/dload.php ... &file_id=4
All print/design shops should be able to handle this file. The advantage to Illustrator format is that it can be resized without any loss in quality.
The logo looks like the one on our shirts:

Yep, you volunteered. Congratulations! After doing the DeKalb fest this should be a cinch.
