Very Sad News: David Kovacs

Postby Mike » Fri, Feb 06 2015, 07:59 PM

It's on David Kovacs Facebook page.
He passed away from a massive heart attack.

He was a tremendous fellow. Always cheerful and supportive. A great kite flier.
He will be sorely missed.

Very sad news. The best in all ways. I will miss him. Much too young to be gone.

Same here. Unbelievable, and he will be missed. He was a really nice guy. I learned a lot from him, and he's one of the reasons I'm here on IKE. And not just revolutions - he had indoor SLKs that were great. Still can't believe he won't be flying with all of us again. My condolences to Tanya and his family.

A few pictures to remember our late friend by, from the 2012 IKE retreat:

I'm so deeply saddened to hear this. I can't imagine what his family is going through as I can't wrap my brain around it.
We had so many laughs on the kite field. The Go Riders routine in T. I. was a very special time for all four of us.
He will be sorely missed.

Jeff, that picture is great. He made that banner. Just one example of his many talents.

Can you put that one up on our FB pages?

That's the old banner, actually. But a great picture of our friend David.

What a horrible tragedy.

Yes, I can do that. I thought about putting something on the team page, but didn't want to presume to be the one that would post there. But I'd like to do that, if everyone is ok with that.

Nicest person and the most helpful person you ever going to meet. There is no one I rather be standing next to in a line. This is very sad for me to know that I would never going to get a chance to stand next to you again. IKE would never be the same again without you.

Jeff - Thanks for the post over on facebook. I think you did a great job of remembering David with your post.

So sad. Too young. We were fortunate to be able to spend some kite time with David. Big loss to our kite family.
