My thought, exactly.
I decided I needed a signature line, so I wrote this.

I am sure there might be an extra rev or two there that you can use. If for some reason you can't procure one in time. And Welcome to the club!

or 15.
Welcome!

BTW, anyone have an opinion on the hotel we use? Or should I just choose one? They're kinda pricey, but it only has to be for one night.

I looked up hotels there is a Comfort Inn in Porter the rate was $99.00 a night. Which includes a continental breakfast.
Then there is a Hilton Garden Inn which is in Chesterton that is $119.00 an night nicer hotel no breakfast included. They do have an advance purchase rate of $109. Paid in full nonrefundable rate.

Both options are only a few miles from the park. With the Hilton being actually in Chesterton, it is the closest of the 2.
Everything seems so much better when the sky is filled with beautiful colors.

Here's the link I posted back on page two of this thread:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g3700 ... otels.html
The Best Western Indian Oak is even closer (3.5 miles from the beach).

Right now, I'm seeing a $101 advance purchase rate for the Hilton
http://hiltongardeninn3.hilton.com/en/h ... index.html

The Hilton has better reviews, but doesn't include breakfast. It's 6 miles from the beach. ( http://goo.gl/maps/2yqXQ )

If we had a bunch of people coming, we could try for a group rate, but I'd need a firmer head count.

Mike ~ Count me in...I'm in for sure!

Any choice is fine with me! ...Keep us posted if you decide on one and if you reserve a block.

:thanks:

We are in for sure. Shari said check out the comfort inn. It is fairly close, and had breakfast. One thing I think we need to find out also is what kind of common room the hotels have. Would be nice if there is a place we can all hang out at night without taking up the whole lobby.

So... Is that our base? If so we can begin making reservations.

Mike ~ Have you considered calling and seeing whether we can block rooms at a special :LogoRevAni: :clubfly: rate?

I called the Hilton just to see what I could talk them in to.
The normal refundable rate is $125 and no breakfast. They'll give us $105 and a $6 breakfast coupon ($2 off). They said they have a full breakfast with cook-to-order eggs.
They only have 13 rooms available right now.

180GO! could buy you folks breakfast, but I need some harder numbers from you guys...
I need some confirmation of who needs a hotel.

If you are 75% sure you will be coming, chime in, and bug your friends to log on and chime in too!

Ha! We cross-posted Jynx! I'll call the other hotels for a group rate as soon as I have a better idea of how many are coming.

I'd like to kick this (IKE Retreat) around this Saturday at our get-together fly... (my Facebook post):

"Local WI (all SL, DL, QL) KITERS:

Update from the Wisconsin Kiters Club (WKC)

A group of 'flyers' are getting together Saturday (8/11) afternoon at Homestead Hollow County Park, N120W19809 Freistadt Rd., Germantown, WI 53022 (for your GPS). (And a bite to eat afterward!) :)

Check the FB WKC site (under Steve Nicol's post) for any changes and additional details!

The more the merrier... Hope to see you/s there!"

Thinking we may get some additional "takers" ...I'll get back to you afterward with any interested peeps and numbers!

And HOPEFULLY some of you IKEers will be able to join us this Saturday!? :welcome:
