Team Fly music
Team Fly music
I suppose we are looking for some ideas on some music to use for our team/mega flys...
Please feel free to put your suggestions/thoughts up here... Popular songs that people will instantly recognize would be best...
I'll start it out this way...
Heard It Through The Grapevine - Marvin Gaye, I believe
Against The Wind - Bob Seger
Owner Of The Lonely Heart - Yes

Re: Team Fly Music
Not really that popular, but have a listen to "The Gold Bug" by Alan Parsons Project. I was flying to that the other day and it was pretty kewl.
Re: Team Fly Music
I was scanning through my music library the other day, and several songs seemed like they may be suited to work up a team routine for...
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Come Together - Beatles
Mr. Blue Sky - E.L.O.

Re: Team Fly music
wow, why didn't I think about THAT one! It's Classic..
we ought to do something with it... before anyone else snags it and makes it theirs...

Am I imagining things, or is the song I mentioned now missing from my post?

I dunno, in post #3, I see :
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Come Together - Beatles
Mr. Blue Sky - E.L.O.
was there something else?
Re: Team Fly Music
It was weird. The entire second line of the post was just not there. Blank. The line with Bohemian Rhapsody.
I refreshed the screen several times, and it did not reappear. I quoted the post, and the text was missing. And then about 5 minutes later, when checking back, it was there again.

Re: Team Fly music
'tis weird indeed. Maybe Babb has an idea.
Re: Team Fly music
We talked about Bohemian Rhapsody offline. Other's liked it, but I was the holdout. I couldn't get past some of the lyrics.
"Mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead...". I was told nobody pays attention to the lyrics and it's an immensely popular song. True, and I went along with it for a bit, but in the end, I just don't want to hear that line over and over again.

Re: Team Fly Music
In Illinois you can't really go wrong with "Sweet Home Chicago."
Re: Team Fly Music
I thought of "Money" by Pink Floyd, but I suspect we'd have a lyric problem there too.
"Time" might work too, although, I'd probably clip off the alarm clock chorus.

Re: Team Fly Music
"Come Sail Away" by Styx has that nice soft/loud mix going on.
There's "Mr. Roboto" too.

Re: Team Fly music
something I saw in a drum core routine that had people just crapping themselves in shock, delight and awe......
The Cavilers were doing this mechanical/robot kind of routine... for anyone who has never seen any DCI competitions, they are a sight to behold... you think US choreographing something is difficult... try lining up a few dozen or more musicians and color guard... amazing stuff...
Anyway, the Cavilers were doing this robot thing where they were all dressed up very mechanical looking... the entire routine was basically a machine in motion... at one point, they introduced a section that skipped the music a few times... like a scratch on a CD... they choreographed the skip into their routine and literally brought the audience to their feet in a frenzy... it was really rather cool...
Something we should do in a song... and choreograph our flying to 'skip' along with the skip... a small thing but quite effective... It's the small, simple and unexpected things that could make us unique...

Re: Team Fly music
I did it Jeff, we didn't wan't anyone stealing the idea for the song, so I kidnapped part of your post.

It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not crazy.
Not officially, anyway.

Eye In The Sky - Alan Parsons Project
Re: Team Fly Music
Another from the Blues Brothers soundtrack, the Peter Gunn Theme. It's only 3:50 long, but sounds pretty cool.
