As everyone is aware, the California wildfires are causing widespread destruction and causing the evacuations of 100's of thousands of people.

As Rev fliers are also aware, Revolution Enterprises is located in Poway California which is being threatened by these wildfires, specifically by the Witch Creek Fire. As it looks on Tuesday, the fire seems to be north of the Rev location but obviously, this has been changing quickly.

Here's a few links for those who are interested in tracking the progress:

City Of Poway Witch Fire Information
San Diego County Emergency
Fire Map As Of 10/24/07 * NEW
ABC Fire Information

Ben over at Rev put some information up that I will repeat here:

-----------------

Hello Family
I'm writting this from the road for my place was a mandatory evac. so I'm on my laptop watching the flames cross the ridge up by the factory from the bottom of the hill and as of this writting the factory looks safe. I'm fairly sure all of the staff is well but some of them had to leave there homes.

If your following the news you know this is a bad one and is far from over and the lose of homes and property is unreal but as always Southeren Ca. shall overcome.

Tomorrow I will try to get up to the factory and see whats up and I will let all of you know how things are, as most of you know by the news this is a bad fire and getting worse but I want all of you to know that the fire services out here are doing a heck of a job and these folks are true heros in my book, so Family take a second and say a prayer for both fire fighters and victims alike.........

Thank you each and everyone who has called or written me emails and know I'm safe and well and have the things I need and tomorrow is a new day and things will get better.......Ben

------------------

I also gave Lolly a call on her Cell to see how things are and she said that so far, they are OK.

Needless to say, the thoughts of IKE members are with all of those impacted by these events.

---------------

update... things seem to be calming a bit... but are not over yet... I'm pulling this from the announcements because I think we have all seem it enough and enough on TV...

My nieces and nephews are getting the time off from school because of all the smoke in the air.

It looks like I have family near 3 of the fires, but all are OK.
My folks aren't home, so I'm trying to watch the fires near their home in a somewhat rural area of Escondido. So far, their house seems fine.

"The fire in southwest Escondido currently is burning in a westerly direction near structures south
of Via Rancho Parkway. The fire has jumped Del Dios Highway and is now threatening
Harmony Grove."

Damn, it's getting close to their house. They live right next to Harmony Grove. I wish google satellite updated in real time. It sounds like the fire is a couple miles from their house.
The wind is blowing from the NW right now and they live North of Harmony Grove, so we should still be OK...

neat photos, but they don't show detail. A list of homes damaged so far lists about 50 homes in Escondido, but none near my folk's house. So it looks like I'll still be here for the 180GO! practice this Saturday. My folks return home Friday and if their house burned I'd have to fly out there to help them.

Mike... your parents and their situation come first. Don't hesitate to go on our account.

Should you go, We can take the 180 Go! practice back up to Meigs and I'll run it.

thanks, I wont hesitate. But from what I can tell on the web, their house is still fine. They are on a cruise and won't arrive back to California until Friday. If their house is OK, there's nothing for me to do.

My wife has several cousins in the Escondito area. They were evacuated, went to a relatives house, then were evacuated from there, and went to another house. Last we heard, their house is OK, but the fire came really close, and 14 or so neighbors (I'm not exactly sure how close these houses are) had theirs burn.

Talking about fires,...I spoke to my daughter Mary, a minute ago, who lives in Escondido, CA. and she is now in Long beach, CA. along with my grandson and grandaughter, at my other daughter Shirley's home. she was telling me that the Scondido fires where she lives, was real SAD, some of my daughter's friends lost their homes. Mary desided to come to L.A. area since there are no schools open, and she was also telling me that the fires are very close to where she lives, and was waiting for an evacuation call. Instead she left before anything. These fires are really hurting the Californians.

How sad to see so many fires creating havoc with peoples lives. Also a lot of wildlife is suffering and the topography of the land is being eroded; spring's rains will inevitably cause more damage. It's difficult to believe that human beings intentionally started some of these. Unbelievable! i sure hope that the center and Krishnamurti school in Ojai remains safe; i've donated a lot to that place over the years.

Yes! When you destroy other life forms... you are really destroying yourself... even though you may be too ignorant/primitive to realize it.
