What happen to the Skyliners? We came to kiting post Skyliners and it's been a question I've had since finding out they weren't active any more.

Like many clubs, it was the same group of people that did all of the work, year in, year out. They finally got tired of doing
all the work. MAKR is the last remnant of the club.

Maybe I'm naive, but I'm hoping that wont happen with this club....
Since we meet in a virtual space, we don't have to organize meetings, food, hosting duties.
Since we don't have dues, we don't need a treasurer, bank account, etc.
The forum takes the place of a newsletter, we'll just send out an email announcing club flies. So no postage costs and nobody needs to be in charge of writing/editing a newsletter.
Once we have the forum software running the way we like, the forum should mostly run itself.
My goal is to keep this club as simple as possible and keep focussed on the goal of flying kites with friends, and to make new friends by showing them how much fun all this is.
Of course if we did have dues, we could charter a plane and all go visit Ivo in Belgium! Now that would be fun!

It's sad that Skyliners isn't active anymore.
As for IKE, as long as we're doing what we enjoy, to the extent we're able to continue to enjoy it, we'll be okay.

If it's not broke, don't fix it.
Just remember K.I.S.S- Keep It Simple Stupid, one of the many acronyms I learned in the Navy

"one of the many acronyms I learned in the Navy"
I was unaware that there was anything BUT acronyms in the N.A.V.Y. (never again volunteer yourself)
