Welcome to the club, Martin.

Welcome to the club.

I'm not a kiteboarder myself, but I have seen at least one person on a kite landboard at Busse Woods.

Hi Martin. Good to have you a-board. No vast, open tracts of land in the immediate Chicago area. Some beaches along the lakefront of Lake Michigan may be the ticket. Montrose and Lunt Avenue beaches may be suitable, especially during colder times of the seasons, but you won't find miles of open beach and the beaches are narrow. Busse Wood has more room in which to manouver, but you should check with the forest preserve police beforehand so that you don't get fined. Frozen lakes in the winter come to mind also, as well as some lagoons along the lakefront.
