Winter Flying C-U?

Didn't find a "Going to go flying now" board, let "General Discussion" be the the substitute...
It's cold outside but I wonder if anyone is still flying in Champaign-Urbana or around.
I'm also trying to find a big and smooth (ok, at least unplowed) field to play with power kites where I wouldn't be pulled into power lines and once we have snow to try to have some rides out there. Any kite friendly farmers or airport-like fields around?

We use the "quick fly" section of the board to let folks know on short notice when we plan on heading out.

I don't know of any farms where you can power kite. Parkland college has some pretty big areas, it's worth checking out.
You could also try Meadowbrook park, it's not real big though.

I'm in Champaign, but I'm not a power kiter--I fly Revolution quad-line sport kites. I'm also a wimp about the cold and don't fly often in the winter

Mike

Go ahead and tell it the way it is. Many of us know that you come to the west coast in the winter and fly with us on the beach in your IKE "T" shirt.

See you in San Diego New Years Day?

We may stay over and fly on Saturday and Sunday as well.
