Kite Sale 2.0

Postby goestoeleven » Mon, Aug 24 2015, 08:40 PM

I'm figuring I'll offer this to my IKE friends first . . . .

Time to thin the collection, the wife is not happy . . . . .

Well, maybe a little annoyed - she's not angry. It's mostly the square footage that's consumed by kite stuff that has her annoyed. As a result, I'm not that interested in trades unless it's something really interesting / unique. Cellular / cody kites and anything by Guildworks are interesting. Lifters / line laundry are interesting. This may be a surprise to many of you, but I'm not interested in any more Revs . . . .

Peter Powell dual lines
* 6 stack
* 2 kites for parts (1 missing spreader, one broken dihedral) (match the 6 stack)
* 2 extra kites with stacking lines (match the 6 stack)
* 3 stack for night flying - one kite is missing spreaders - (these also match the other 6 stack kites)
* 4 stack (neon) - Orange kite sail needs repair / replacement
What will probably happen with the Powells is I'll see what sells, and then I'll keep one of the stacks for my own collection. Maybe I'll keep the night fly stack or make a three stack by taking the parts kites and making a single working one. Or I'll just get rid of the orange kite from the "neon" stack.

Action Kites (I think) - old school dualies - no standoffs!
* 3 stack of large dual line kites
* 5 stack of smaller dual line kites
* 8 more that are the same size as the 5 stack kites (but don't have stacking lines)
There's also a Fire Dart (that I'll probably keep) and a No Na Me (that I might keep).
Again, I'll probably keep one of the stacks and maybe a few of the individual ones.

Hyperkites dual line
* 3 pack
* Single hyperkite (blue)

Other dual lines
* Skynasaur progressive 3 stack
* Flexifoil (kite only)
* Spectra ?Stinger (missing top standoff)
* A couple small cheap dual lines (missing top spreaders / standoffs)

Various SLKs
* Small Spectra Rainbow Box kite
* 2 or 3 Deltas at about 8-9 feet. Note - these have broken spars or other issues.
* There may be a couple more single lines I'll sell in the picture link.
I might also consider selling . . .
* A Sun Oaks Delta or two (no pictures posted)
* 19 ft Premier Delta (Tecknacolor - white)
* Maybe Dan Leigh delta

Even some Revs . . .
* Blast with line set & blast handles
* 1.5 Full Vent (probably 3 wrap frame)
* 1.5 SUL (but with a regular bridle)
* Rev 2s - probably 3-5 of these. I was going to stack them, but never got around to it. If nobody is interested, maybe I'll still stack them . . .

I have some other random SLKs as well that I might have posted to the pictures folder.

Here's a link to some pictures. This link will probably disappear once the sale is over

Also, I have PLENTY of braided dacron on spools, mostly less than 100 lb test and in lengths between 600-1300 yards.

Quite a collection, Steve. Nothing that I want/need however.

If no one here wants the dual line stacks, talk to Mike MacDonald. He often flys classic stacks at Kite Party.

Yeah . . . figure I'll give IKE first dibs for a few days, before I hit other sites. I know the old school dualies are not so attractive these days, but I didn't quite know what I was getting at the time these old school dualies popped up. Mike M. is my fallback plan for the stacks. Last option is the 'bay . . . . but before then maybe we'll all try them out at the retreat.

Some of the other SLKs and revs are kites I just don't fly very often, and my kids are not flying with me much so . . . . . time for some kites to go. PM me for prices/offers on anything.

What about the Rev 2.0's? I've always been interested in them. I'll send you a PM.

I think I only sold some of the Revs out of this pile - maybe only the full vent. I don't remember selling any of the dual lines, although I might have sold the flexifoil and I donated some kites to U-Make. I sold the 19 ft delta to a Wisconsin Kiter.

My wife became resigned to the additional kite bags / pile in the garage, but I still should sell / donate some of these . . . . .

I don't remember if I sold the Blast or not. If I didn't, I'll bring it the next time we get together. Speaking of that . . . .
