Woo Hoo!
That's a fantastic video Hector. Very exciting to have a celebrity in our club!

At the kite festival in Seal Beach, a local news channel hid a mike in my shirt, and then interviewed and filmed me for about 20 minutes.
They didn't show any of it on the news! You must be better looking, mi amigo.

Congrats on a nice show.

Congrats!

Hi guys... and girls...! :LogoRevAni:
I am glad you like it. The video is not that great looking, I am gonna try to better it but who knows.
Hey babbman, you touched down something important there, the only way the local news can present something about the club or someone specific is to go to them, and tell them about it...You have lots of talented people in kite making, experienced kite fliers, and other things. You have to and can get the attention of a producer. "If the mountain doesn't come to you, you go to the mountain" ...I am pretty sure that an excelent TV report may come out of IKE. Remember that IKE as a whole, (club) has many advantages in exposing yourselves. But if the TV people does not know you, How can they report anything about you? Ohh...one more thing, remember, you represent the State of Illinois, and for that fact, your profetionalism would make a big impact when you get a report.

God Bless You All. Who knows...maybe sometime I'll be visiting your area...

I was on the news once, before IKE existed. It was live  , and I showed how to make a paper kite and talked about an upcoming festival. But it was on at something like 6:30 in the morning so I don't think too many people saw it :P

Very good Hector!

Some news stations have suggestion boxes on line for story ideas. We dinged the local stations for the DeKalb fest and made the 6pm news that night. Others involved with the DeKalb fest had a, "We'll I'll be :censored: !" moment when the news crew actually showed up. (It was the smaller of the two stations, but still a feather in my cap. This year the committee outa take me serious when I request someone as an offical spokesperson. ) Kites can offer some great footage for the cameras. At the VERY least the local newpapers should be notified of festivals, radio, and TV news as well. We also had radio interviews with kiters. Our sponsor station is a talk radio station, and they did several long interviews with different kiters.
