Creating kite enthusiasts

Postby kidskite » Sat, Aug 31 2013, 01:15 PM

I've made 200 M kites (modified sleds) and flown and given them to people in public parks. My goal this year is 200 kites in the air with enthusiasm. I have 70 more kites in " manufacturing" for Sept., Oct. and Nov. of 2013. also at block parties if the street is closed off. Carl Ek, Oak Park, Il.

I have extra M kites and the plan to snailmail or email photos. cek60304@live.com This is a simple, modified sled kite made from folded copy paper, an origami kite. One sheet of copy paper, 2 ft. of breakable yarn, 6 in. of 3/4 in. cheap Scotch tape. 4 folds. measuring tool is a penny. Flies on a short, breakable, lightweight tether in tight spaces or will carry l00 ft plus of line. Flies in lightest wind, poorly in strong gusty wind. Can decorate with crayons. Carl kidskite

He gave me one when I happened to be out with my son David trying to fly a Rev . . . . about four years ago. I probably still have it somewhere. Great simple design and a really cheap way to spread the love of kites to young kids.
