Hello,
My name is Mike Stephenson. I have been out of kite flying for about a year due to a death in the family. But I am back and happy to be flying again. I primarily fly dual line kites, but before the tragedy I bought a Rev 1.5 SLE at Perry Farms Kite Festival. I just flew it for the first time Friday night and I have alot to learn about flying quad lines. I am looking forward to being a member of the club and hopeing to meet some of the members at Perry Farm this weekend. Hope to see you there! Mike

Welcome backdraft!
There's a bunch of quad-heads here in the club to help you out.
I'm looking forward to flying with you this weekend.

I just looked up your town. You weren't exaggerating, it is in the middle of nothing but corn and bean fields!
Map!

The population was 263 at the 2000 census.

How's that park with the softball field? Is it a good place to fly?

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Kite flying at the park in Cabery can be good if the winds are any direction from the North and there are no baseball games going on. It is also a Great! place to throw boomerangs. I think in the census for Cabery they were counting all the Cats and Dogs in this town and various other pets.. :rotfl

Like i mentioned in a previous thread, i sometimes drive through Cabery on the way home from work. i am also primarily a dual line flier, but have recently gotten into quads too. Do you do tricks with dual line... or mostly precision? i do tricks and precision. i especially like tricks.

Where do you fly around Cabery? There are a couple of nice fields in Dwight, where i work.

Knoted4ever there is a park on the north side of town were we fly and a small field across from my house. Both fields need a wind out of the north and if their playing baseball at the park no place to fly. I live across the street from the big church on the east side of town(tan house big red building) stop in some time if your in the area. That goes for any one in from the club.
I also like precision and trick flying but I am very rusty at both due to the long absents of flying. :(
:thanks: Mike

Mike, i think i know where the park is; i've never flown there; it looked like there were far too many trees around.

i'll stop by one of these days, Mike! We'll have to get together one of these days for flying. The fields adjacent to the Dwight Elementary School are very nice, for instance... and there are a number of other really nice fields that i know of. i often fly in Dwight after work. Today, for instance, i flew for an hour, following work. The area was completely deserted and i had the whole place to myself. Winds were excellent today... and it was a total blast regarding tricking in decent winds! :mrblue:
