Central IL

Postby Origami78 » Sun, Sep 08 2013, 08:29 PM

New to the forum. I'm from Bloomington IL and have been flying different kites in the area for years. Was looking online and found this site. I usually fly quad line parafoils. I just finished making a NASA parawing 9b out of tyvek house wrap it is 7 foot tall and around 7 square meter.

Welcome!
We have an occasional club fly in Pontiac, so that would be close to you.
But I echo Trigger's comment: check out the weekend at Indiana Dunes. Click here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2289

Greetings & welcome to IKE. I just flew someone else's parawing a few months back at a kite festival. Pulled like a truck, even in light winds.

Mike - your link didn't quite work (at least for me) so here's another try: Click here for the IKE retreat thread!

Hello and Welcome to the club. We are fairly close to bloomington and may be in the area this coming weekend. We commonly go to fly kites in Pontiac. Where do you usually fly in Bloomington?

We are thinking of flying kites in Pontiac on Saturday, not exactly sure what time yet, but if you think you'd wanna come up we fly at the rec plex on the south side. I will post an approximate time as we get closer.

Big Mike, you might want to make it an official club fly. I can't make it either though.

Doesn't sound like anyone is going to be able to make it, probably have to do it another weekend anyway.

Will post when we can make it again and do the same sometime when you're going to fly.

Big Mike
