Hello From The Jersey Shore

Hello and Happy New Year.
My name is Laura, some of you probably know me from the Rev Forum. I've been flying Revs since the end of March 08 and I am soooo hooked! I can't get enough flying .... ever.
I had flown SLK's since I'm a kid (a few years back  ) and got more serious with them about five years ago. I found out about the AKA in October 07 when someone saw me flying and stopped to chat. So, I joined in hopes of learning more about the SLK's. I saw a post for a Rev Clinic and called to find out what it was about. I had never seen a Rev in person, but was hooked just from seeing the videos of JB, iQuad and Revolution kites which I was advised to check out to see if the clinic was for me. Boy was I blown away from the moment I layed eyes on them.Image I haven't stopped flying them since the clinic (except for some back surg. that put me on the shelf for a bit in April). The rest they say, is history.
I love photography, all sports, boating, fishing and KAP which I just got into after Nationals.
I am hoping to get to your neck of the woods for one of your festivals this summer.
If you're ever in the Jersey area and would like to fly, just let me know; there's a bunch of us that fly regularly all over the state, but quite frequently at Liberty State Park and we welcome everyone to join us.

Happy New Year and welcome to the club!
It's really nice to have you here.
You can click on the "Festivals" link above for a list of upcoming festivals, though probably the biggest Midwest festival is the Great Lakes Kite Festival - May 16-17, 2009 in Grand Haven, MI.

Laura,

Welcome to the forum and the mid-west.

Things are a little quiet on the forum right now ... seems like many have gone into hibernation. But, wait until spring and the festivals start.

Cheers,
Tom

Hello everyone-
Thanks for the warm welcome. I have mention to a few friends about joining IKE. Their first response was "but it's all the way out there". I told them about the fact that some of the same crew from the Rev Forum are members and they don't all live locally. It got them thinking about some of the other clubs that have members from a distance and also, that the price is right! So, you might be seeing a few more from the JC (Jersey Crew).
Stay warm.

The Jersey Crew is good fun!
Maybe IKE can take a road trip out there some day.
