Hello from Troy Illinois

Postby stickerbush1970 » Tue, Jun 25 2019, 12:23 PM

Good afternoon, just joined because I am looking for locals to fly with. Just bought my first quad 3 days ago and have crashed it more times than there are hours in the day. After talking to multiple people I learned that the line sets that you buy are not equalized, that was issue number 1, issue number 2 is I don't know how to fly the thing but will eventually learn.

I am Just right outside of STL near Edwardsville, wanna fly, ley me know.

Hi!
Unfortunately, our club is no longer active.
There are a couple Rev fliers in the Gateway kite club in St Louis. Maybe you can get some help there. It is much easier to learn from someone else.

If your travels take you north along the 55 you might also try contacting Route 66 Kites in Pontiac, IL. They have several experienced rev fliers in the family and might be able to give you some free lessons.

If you have questions about flying that could be answered here, please write back. I still keep an eye on this forum and I’ve been flying Revs for 25 years or so.

Good Luck!

Hello "Stick" from Troy. Mike is right - the club is kind of inactive these days (and the forum has been especially quiet). If you haven't already connected with the Gateway kite club, they are you best (somewhat) local bet. I know Donna flies quads, not sure about the other members. If you can get to some kite festivals, that may also be a way to connect with some quad flyers. The season is winding down, but Route 66 Kites will be having their kite festival in Pontiac, IL on Sat, Oct 12th. There's a Google calendar for the IKE club up under the "quick links" button above left. I try to keep that one somewhat up to date for the festivals I know about in the Midwest (mostly IL/IN/WI/MI/IA).
