i'd be glad to do demos!

If possible, please watch the weather reports on the day prior, and please think about having the demo spot where the winds will not be coming from an area with very nearby obstructions (like trees); with dualie tricking, a little bit of turbulence can cause a lot of trouble!... the farther from obstructions... the better! i know that it's not always possible... but being careful about distance from large objects is helpful... regarding what is in the direction that the wind is coming from.

I'm planning on going.

I have a somewhat less explosive kite for some demos.

Team fly?

I haven't decided yet. It's a lot of driving for one day. (about 5 1/2 to 6 hours round trip). I do like the roped off field though.

I don't know what this might affect, aside from traffic, but it is looking fairly probable that there will be a playoff game at Wrigley Field on October 6 as well. The time has yet to be set until after all the teams are decided for postseason.

I thought Wrigley Field was very close to Montrose. It's gotta affect traffic getting in and out, and the Dan Ryan is already a mess.
Let's hope there isn't a game.

Bite your tongue! As a Cubs fan, I'm hoping for playoff games!

Anyway, with yesterday's win and Milwaukee's loss, the Cubs are just about a lock to make it.

If you're coming in early, traffic shouldn't be too affected, even if the game is in the afternoon. Getting out may be more congested, depending on whether the game is starting or ending.

If I'm not mistaken, it's usually Lake Shore Drive up in that area that gets heavy traffic for the games... Wrigley field is on Addison and we always use the Belmont exit off of Lake Shore to get there...

Then again, a few years ago we got smart and instead of having to deal with the congestion over by the field, we park over at Devry/Lane Tech HS and for $5, get the parking and a bus ride over to the field... WAY easier and MUCH cheaper than trying to find a place to park over there... especially for night games..

Sorry, sometimes I forget there's something out there besides kites.

It depends where you're coming from. For me, the Edens and Kennedy would both be rather bad coming into the city before game time. The junction really blocks up, and many of the surface streets going east are bad. I don't drive to games anymore. I take the el train from the 'burbs right to the park.

But getting to Montrose early should avoid any of it anyway.

There is one other thing, and that thing is baseball. :P

Actually, it would be quite fun to be in the city with the buzz of playoff baseball going on.

My 2 favorite things, kites and Cubs. :mrblue:

I wasn't 100% sure I could make it for this until today. My schedule is clear, and I'm all ready.
