Looks like everyone had a great time! I'll be putting this one on my list for next year!!
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Plenty of photos of their stuff. Look at the Library's photo links posted earlier.
Here they are again:

KOLM was awesome. Went there to get in a little Mega Fly practice and ended up flying with team Two Rivers for my first demo. The location and people were the best. This will be a definite addition to my kite fest calendar next year.

Much thanks to Mike, Ken and Jeff for their patients with me in my first attempt at team flying. Had a blast and looking forward for more opportunities.

Hope to see you all in Milwaukee next week.

What a great weekend! It was so much fun to participate in a new event and receive such an enthusiastic response. The folks who attended seemed to have a great time and are looking forward to next year!

Thanks to Ken for saying "Yes"! You did a great job and filled a needed "quad hole" in the flight order! You really stepped up and showed what a kid from Cal City is made of!

Thanks also to Mike, Issac, Jeff and Ken for becoming a "team for the weekend" Team Two Rivers! You got rave reviews, with the crowd especially enjoying the burst! I know it wasn't the easiest "yes" you've ever spoken, but the result was terrific!

The other sportkite perfomers also put forth great efforts, especially with the strong winds on Sunday. Elizabeth Gordon, Paul Koepke, Fire & Ice (Paul and Kathy Brinnehl), Dan Newman, Mike Delfar, O2 (Dan & Mike) and Team Unique Flying Objects (Dan Brinnehl, Mike, Paul, Dan & Kathy).

The big kite fliers worked hard on both days to keep the sky full of huge amounts of color. Al, Bob, Tony, Jeff, Barb and lots of other flyers. (I hope Al will help out here!)

The Wisconsin Kiters kite club members were out in force; looked like lots of volunteer hours were spent on putting this event together.

Thanks again IKE! You made an impressive showing!

Ann

Not yet, I've looked at it though, and I've got some good stuff. I have to get some time to edit and upload it still. I'll probably put up the individual performances and then a highlight reel of the whole weekend as I get time. Probably over the next few days. (at least)

Meanwhile, I have been looking for what the easiest way might be to share the still photos that we took. I think it migt be nice to use something like Flickr for that, so I signed up and loaded my photos. I'm still learning my way around it, but ou can tag photos and create sets that are easy for others to find. I've tagged all my photos from this weekend with several keywords and phrases to make them more searchable....like, "Kites over Lake Michigan," "Kites," "Kite Festival," "I.K.E.," "Illinois Kite Enthusiasts,"...you get the picture.

I've already found several sets of other people's photos from the event besides the ones we knew about.

Here is my set:

And here's a pool of several users photos:

There's even more out there if you look.

Thanks Ann. You and your whole crew made us feel very welcome and were very supportive. Being a newcomer to this whole scene, I just didn't expect that I'd get to be so involved, meet so many great people, and have such a great time all season.

Every time I leave a festival now, I start counting the days until the next chance I'll get to do it again. 8)
