We had lots of fun getting to know Chris x 2 at Perry Farm. Thanks for being great sports and entering the competition. You both flew really well in spite of the short notice and less than ideal wind conditions. You should be very proud! We look forward to meeting up with you at future kite festivals, be they competitions or just for fun!

There are a few photos from the awards ceremony on Dan's flickr site: www.flickr.com/photos/danbrinnehl/

We applaud you both for rising to the challenge!!

You guys have a point here, a point there... and a lot of bull in between!

i think that Chris and Babb did great jobs in the competition thing; you looked like true matadors out in that fired field. It was very cool (in that hot, humid comp field)!

When i told people about how long we stayed at the festival... and with them knowing how extremely hot and humid it was... i received looks of pity that questioned my sanity!

OK Tom, I need help again.
I get the reference to Hemingway and Death in the Afternoon (I am married to a Hemingway scholar). I get that the last bit is in a Brooklyn-type accent--though I guess it should be a Chicago accent (Oinis =Ernest). But I still can't figure out what Ernest is crooning:
"Cow ??? are to bull returns, was the words of little Ernest"???

Brilliant! That would even be more fun to have them chase the parachute across the field!

Does anyone know of a quick and cheap way to make parachutes out of grocery bags or something like that? It will have to be a pretty big chute so that it comes down slowly and not poke someone in the eye.

I don't think we will decide on a name until the team membership is set. See this thread:
