Father's Day at Perry Farms

Postby Mike » Sun, Jun 10 2007, 11:17 AM

Saturday & Sunday, June 16-17th is the Perry Farms Kite Festival.
http://www.btpd.org/perryfarmkitefest/Index-KF_07.htm
(the web page title still says 2002, but it really is about the current 2007 festival)

Google Map

There will be music, big kites, open flying, competitions, and activities for kids.

Saturday will have AKA competitions. If you are thinking about competing some day you should just give it a go and compete! At least come and watch and see how it all works.

As it stands right now, I will be there on Sunday.

Who else is coming and what days will you be there?

i'll be there both days. It's not too far from where we live.

There's a good chance that some of the handicapped individuals from where i work will be able to attend; i sure hope that they can get to go! i think that they'd really enjoy it! :mrblue:

If I don't get to a festival pretty soon, you all will be sending me well wishes at the funny farm! Missed two flying weekends and I'm not going to miss another. We'll be there Saturday.

My family and I will all be there since it only a 24 mile ride for us. I have two sons Nick (15) and Zack (11) and wife Anne (age not required). Nick flys two line kites and Zack is moving into two lines, still working on Anne. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

hey Dave,

Here's a thought... I plan to bring my 'herd' (21pcs) of Premier Penta-Cows to Perry Farm this weekend & fly 'em all together as a sort of stack (drop lines every 15-20ft off of a main line). This outta tie in perfectly with the Perry Farm motif / theme.

If you have a stock of such kites at your store, you might wanna consider bringing them along....they might just be hot sellers this weekend (they're a nice flying kite...especially for only $20 or so).

Also....would you happen to have one of Kurt Lisk's "Cow" Windfeather banners at your shop?? I'm thinking not, but thought I'd ask.

Oh well...I'm gonna have to pass on this weekend. Just isn't in the cards. Too much else going on, with Fathers Day and my Dad's birthday this weekend.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

IKE is on Image too!

Backdraft... i sometimes drive through Cabery on my way from work. Nice little town!

i'll probably be there early both days... depending on what the wind is doing though. i'll probably just sit, both days, in a nice comfortable folding chair... and watch everyone fly while i munch on popcorn.

I will probably show up on Sunday and play with my KAP rigs. I may put up the Caterpiller, but nothing that will entail a lot of work.

Alan, Look me up if you need a hand with anything. I'll be at the kite hospital just off the public field.

Al,

When did you pick up the caterpillar.....Grand Haven?? I was half tempted to buy that same exact piece from David & Susan myself. Now I won't have to!! I can enjoy yours instead :mrorange:

The caterpiller is on consignment. I don't really own him. If my high pressure sales techniques don't work, he will end up on the
factory outlet page at the end of the season.
