I can come for most of the time. I have to be somewhere else later in the day, but I can be there from the start up until around 2:30 probably.

I'm sure I'll find a way to get there also.

Hello all,

Just wondering if the event will be open for anyone to fly, or if it's just a demo type scenario. Just getting into power kiting and would like to come out and play. Takes a bit of room so I'm not to sure how feasible it is.

Either way i would like to come out and get some tips from you quad line pros :revspin: don't know any other kiter's around so it's been a lot of trial and error.

Anyhow, see you there, hope for wind

BTW hey Dave, do you have any of the HQ Ultra quad handles in stock? My fingers are killing me!

Definitely open to anyone...I'll be glad to do a little coaching. I feel like I'm up to a point where I can help others learn. ;)

It was nice, didn't rain. The winds were on the low side. JJ and Jeff and CKite stayed busy helping folks fly, and flying stunts when they could. The crowd, mostly families, kept a pretty steady flow through most of the day. I'd like to know how many kids kites they made!

The park district has a kite sculpture/plaything. It was awesome!

We collected cicadas by the cups full. For some eery reason we have non here. Jim ever so patiently hauled us all home, bugs and all, although leaving us all along the road surely was a temptation for him. The critters will enjoy them more then dairy queen, if we don't get too attached to them before serving them up. A's already promising to feed and water one if she can keep it.

It was an easy going, laid back day. Well attended for a first year event, and the crowds were nice to work and fly with.

That's good to hear. I'm glad your family and Jeff were able to be there.
A pet cicada, huh? They're pretty ugly looking to me.

We were infested with them many years ago. My kids hated them. Every time we stepped outside the cicadas would fly right into you, bounce off, and keep on flying. I'd have to sweep tons of bodies off the porch every morning. And the noise! It was interesting though...

Glad things went well too. I saw lat night that the winds were supposed to be good so I woke up at 4am to get some flying in before work..

And then noticed that is was raining... and continued to rain ALL DAY. Finally got out around 5 for a little while... Flew the Deca Synergy... what an interesting kite...
