Paul,
it would be really great to see you there. Let us know if you're at the Marriott and I'll keep an eye out for you.
I don't think you've had a chance to try flying a quad line kite yet, this will be your chance to fly a quad and try a dual too if you're interested.

That would be great -- I have several duals, but a quad might be fun.

Dave, there aren't directions to the Naperville festival on your site yet.
Can you give us directions and the name of the park?

This should be it...The Frontier Sports Complex is pretty big...I think it's on the BIG field.

I was just going by the address on the Naperville Park District web page...

http://www.napervilleparks.org/Frontier ... stival.htm

The page for the park itself ( http://www.napervilleparks.org/parksfac ... 1000007516 ) lists 2 parking lots:

Main Parking Lot
3380 Cedar Glade Drive
Naperville, IL

East Parking Lot
3415 Book Road
Naperville, IL

Those seem to be the 2 lots flanking the large field.

It's great that young folks (people like Jack and myself) can sometimes make it to kite festivals! :mrblue:

Any info on field layout? We potentially have five big pieces (Bob now has the Bear and an Octopus). How many go in the air depends on wind and space to fly.

Weekend number seven in a row, but then this is an unsponsored fly for me so I can take it easy and fly what I feel like.

Still haven't got the sand out of my shoes...

How much space do you need? We'll work it out on Saturday morning.

We could probably fill whatever space is available, however a greater than 50% chance of rain / thunderstorms on Saturday will probably limit what we put up.

My options are: Octopus, Gecko, Trilobite, Caterpillar, Blue Devils, Mid Fish, Plane (20') , Big flag & Flag line. I don't begin to have enough space to dry all of this if it gets wet.

Bob has: Bear, Octopus, Mid Gecko, Mid Ray? (Ok, several mid size pieces that I am drawing a blank on right now.)

These could fill an enormous field. Bottom line, field needs to be at least 250' deep in the direction of the wind, and the wider it is the better the show.

this time of year there is almost always a 50-50 chance of a thunderstorm blowin' through.
If it gets wet on Saturday, just fly it on Sunday to get dry! Just kidding, I know that would be a ton of ripstop to mildew.

It's a different section of the park than last year, we'll just see what direction the wind is blowing and what space there is. It would be cool to have a bunch of the big stuff up.

Assuming that we have the big field, here is the measurement according to Google Earth.

Current wind forecasts are also displayed.
