Is this some kind of community evebt or just a kite fly. You guys have enough musicians to create a band, will that be the plan?

Good Lord... Then we would have to give up air time to rehearse....

There are enough musicains here. It be cool to see you guys play!

Naperville had a nice festival last fall as part of their 150th year celebration. The kite festival was part of a 'visioning' event. There was a huge mini mall of a tent with display booths showing alternative energies, health care products, food and so on. NASA even had a booth there. A neat event! We didn't have enough time to wander through all the displays. My kids were enthralled by the gyro rides, and groovy science stuff going on right in the door and we never got much farther. I believe, they decided to make the kite fest part of it an annual event...not sure about the rest of it.

So what do you think, Banshee? Think you can make it down for this one? It would be great to meet you in person.

As far as the night fly, it would be good if someone had a spotlight to highlight the kites as well as the kites having their own lights.

i'll have to pick up a nice set of LED kite lights! Rick, who was at the Trick Clinic the time before last, had a few of the types that he sells via on-line kite stores; they were pretty cool!

At Drumshow last night, I discussed the Naperville festival with some people from the local Naperville Cable station. They were going to check to see if they were going to be covering it. I began prepping them about IKE and what we are doing. Hopefully something will come of it.

I, like many big kite fliers, don't do night flys. Flying and putting away big kites in the dark is just begging for trouble.

Dave,

These are the guys who could not be bothered to stop by and say hello, thanks for coming. Neither Bob nor I saw anyone from the Glenn Ellyn park district. I feel no desire to go back.

Sorry David, but if their organizers can't give more than a month's notice, I can't be bothered to adjust my plans to cater to them. I thought they weren't planning to even hold the event this year.
