No wind steerable SLK

Postby Mike » Wed, Jan 31 2007, 02:32 PM

I saw this kite over on KiteBuilder.

I happen to have the right spars to make this kite, and I could make the connectors out of tubing, but I don't think I get very many no-wind days!

Anyway, have a look. It looks pretty cool. It would be a good SLK for dual-line fliers who like to trick.

I think you can learn a lot of precise sewing techniques just from making this kite, see the very detailed Plan.

Also check out an interview with designer.

The flight card is in German, but gives you a good idea of the sort of flying style.

And a video of a different kite by the same guy, but it's supposed fly like this:

that's funny that you posted it today, I reviewed it a few times myself this morning. It looks interesting and pretty easy to make, the plan is excellent, very detailed. I would love to make one now but I have other things to do first. Let me know how it works out for you.

Very cool...a slk stunt kite   If you make one be sure to take some video of it flying!
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.
