The kite Lee and Debby were talking about in the first video is a Decca from Guildworks.
One of the guys from Guildworks was supposed to be at Grinnell, but I dont' see his name there anymore so maybe it has changed. That's too bad, 'cause you would have had a chance to fly an indoor decca. I don't like deccas outside, but inside they are a thing of beauty.

I've been so busy doing video that I didn't have time to post the videos I sent Chris.. 14 videos done today... 5 more to go... my eyes are fried

On top of all that, I had a rehearsal at Church last night and our music minister grabbed me and sat me down to watch something she saw at Willow Creek a few days ago... she was very excited and kept saying kites... then she showed me some the video at the top... did I say she was blown away at the fact you can fly a kite indoors?

It was fun talking about it with her...

Now you have to realize that when someone at my church is excited about something, they usually make it happen and make an event of it... soooo.... Chris, my kite flying 'other woman', I have a feeling that you and I will be asked to do something in the near future...

I have a feeling that if Chris and I can whip up a routine, we will be in demand not just at New Life Church, but at other churches we associate with.. This could be the beginnings of something great...

Our indoor Revs should be here pretty soon... which isn't soon enough....

Extraordinarily beautiful kite... I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it...

And anyone that knows me knows what that means...

Can anyone here talk about their experiences with Guildworks and Decas?

I want to second TheBigKiteGuy. Nice fellow, but hold on to your money until things are right. I ordered a indoor deca, got it in the wrong colors, sent it back and then months of not having a kite or my money ensued. It ended up being handled by Visa.

I have seen videos and kitefliers in person doing their tricks with 0 wind or windless kites and I would like to buy me one. You fellows with the Duals experience...can you recomend one with a price tag not up in the sky? I'd say $100 $150... max... or less if posible...???

As you may well know I posses Pro-Dancer but that kite is not for tricks, and I feel good enough to execute several moves with a windless kite.

Hector,
I've flown the Vapor, Flashlight, 3D and Ozone.

If budget is the #1 concern, then the 3D is hard to beat. It does lots of tricks and you should be able to get one used for $50 or so. While I haven't flown the newer model to say for myself, I've heard folks say the older model flies better.

The flashlight is a fun outdoor kite. As for indoor, I can't recommend it.

If you can find one used or on sale, the Ozone is spectacular. It has almost the same range as the Vapor and it fades at the drop of a hat.

If budget can be thrown out the window, the Vapor is a glorious machine. I actually preferred flying it outside in 1mph. The panels *glow* in the sun.

You can see that this was during my Prism-only faze. :)

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thank you so much ZippiD... The words "Glorious Machine" says it all.
I may buy me one of those, but where I am I don't know of any one who sells used kites, so I am going for a spanking brand new one. My Pro Dancer doesn't do any tricks. We'll see.
Thank you again.

My pleasure Hector,
Before you drop the dollars on a new vapor, look very closely at some of the more modern SSUL's. There are extremely light kites that trick easier than the Vapor (although none as pretty IMHO). I just haven't flown any of them to comment. Just an example, I think the Nirvana had an indoor or near indoor incarnation. Then there are smaller ones like the Cesium Continental.
I don't want to muddy the waters, but I would hate for you to fly the Vapor and realize it was mostly just good at axel, 540, fade style moves and not much else.
Be well,
Dan

I just finished my dinner and went looking at Prism web site...and  wow
That machine is pretty expensive...
I really apreciate your help. I was looking at your personal experience in a particular one.
I was also looking at The Kite Shop, they have some not as expensive as the Vapor.
I was looking at ITrix...??? That is atracting my attention. I am not in a hurry anyway.
Nirvana??? Hummm....I will search some more.
Thanks again.

I've got an old model 3D. It has wear on the nose and a small hole that's been inexpertly repaired a long time ago. Otherwise, the sail is still crisp. It looks like it was wasn't flown very much, it just wasn't flown well. It's probably 10 years old. I got it just around the time I discovered quads and well, you know what happened. The dually went into the closet.

I'd trade it for a 75' or 85' quad lineset.

Hmmm...lemme think???
How are we gonna do it...???
If I come to pick the kite over your place it's gonna cost like $300.00 dollars, airplane ticket plus a couple of other expenses, not counting the days I miss from work at the average of $100. per day...
Mike I feel that you kite may be a bit too expensive... :rotfl
Oh, I forgot...the 75 85 quad lines at the price of Chicago Kite, it's worth a fortune, so again...
Hmmm...lemme think...

I am not refusing your offer in any case.
