How It's Made - Kites

Postby Babbman » Fri, Mar 16 2007, 08:54 AM

An episode that shows how stunt kites are made (Season 3 - Episode 13)

http://science.discovery.com/tvlistings ... hannel=SCI

airing March 16 & 17th. See the link for times (all EST)

BTW, this is a great series if you want to know how what you use is made. It's very personal for me as I work in the Industrial Automation field and have worked on many of the processes that they show.

They also have an episode where they show rope being made which is fascinating

Cool!
Think you can capture a bit of that show for those of us who don't get the Discovery channel?

I'll try but the problem is that my TIVO isn't hooked up on the TV where I have access to all the cable stations. Unless they run it on Discovery (channel 43 here), I am limited as the Science Channel is on channel 273...

Thanks for the heads up...I went ahead and scheduled it to record, as well as added a Wishlist item in my TiVo for kite*
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

The Tivo cut off the final few seconds of the credits, the kitemaker looks familiar, but I can not place her. You would think the silver skull ring would stick in my mind. :-)

I was rather unimpressed by the kite making segment...

Sometimes these guys hit a homer with the series... but sometimes, it's awful..

I didn't think too much of that segment either. I thought the toothbrush segment was better.

I want to see them make Revs. I want to see how long it takes them to sew those suckers.
