*First Time Dog Staking*

Postby Hector Herrera » Sun, Feb 11 2007, 01:00 AM

I tought the video was going to be ready by now, but it's in process still.

It was a lot fun folks!!! It's really weird to see the kite from the other side, but I found it very challenging.
I guess I will pursue the dominance of this technic, since is so challenging. It reminds me of those days when I didn't know anything about dual kites, never the less quads.
As soon as you see the video you will be :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl and that's fine...
You are seeing the future USA champion of DOG STAKE KITE FLYING...!!!

Very cool Hector! You'll be ready for the Wolf in no time 8)
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Great video Hector

Looks very much like the first time I tried a dog stake. Come to think of it, it's not much different from the last time I tried a dog stake

Go for it!

Wonderful! You were improving even by the end of the video. You even still have all you teeth! :-)
And your daughter was flying well too. Give her a pat on the back for us, she looked great. I liked the skid marks in the sand, the wind must have been pulling her.

Was that Seal Beach?

Most, but not all, the folks I've talked to, switch their hands when dogstaking. Do you?
(By that I mean, holding the left handle in your right hand)

On my new job, they have "in house dentist", it's either, 80 10 or 100% paid by the company, since you guys are talking about breaking a couple of teeth, I guess it would be "sane" for me to do that, since I can get them repair at work... 8)

For the first time I had the right on the right, I may have to try reversing next time.
The one important fact I noticed, is, the wind is facing you, that means...SAND hitting all over your face, and into your eyes, so...NO TALKING, while Dog staking. :doc:
Seal Beach that time.

HI guys, I am off today, tomorrow Sun. and Mon.,... It's kite flying time!!!
Today I am gonna work on a kite (at home) in the morning, then in the afternoon I will go someplace to have my 150' lines set, to practice Dog Staking... :revspin:
I don't have so much time before the Wolf arrives...
it seems as the weather is cooperating with my days off, clear skies and winds in the 4s and 6s.
Right now is 6:25 A.M. L.A. time.
