Check out Hector's kites.
I really like his vented "Spider" kite and his 3-d effect kite:

Hi Mike!!! Thank so much for viewing my humble kites. I started making my own kites basically due to the lack of funds :( but, it gave me the opportunity to develop some imagination, and creativity.I made the
spider out of coated Ripstop, it's of good quality, and for the spars I used 300P for the verticals, and 400P for the leading edge (attack) In the design I didn't use any plans, I was just thinking and cutting, then sewing. I was learning to make the kite ON THE ROAD. The bridles I kind of figure it out from other kites, but normally I use my own common sense. The same goes with SPACE STATIONS done out of my imagination with NO PLANS, I guess I am a DOER, instead of a thinker. But I can now make a good decent kite in one day or two if I have the Materials. Thank you Mike!
!!! I have to tell everyone that I met Mike at the Kite Party, In Huntington Beach, CA. Mike is, to me, a beatifull person, kind, and one of the most gentle felows I ever met. I am glad to have him as my friend and fellow KiteFlyer. !!! Thank so much Mike.

Beautiful kites, Hector. I'd like to see them in person one day. :-D
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

How are you Chris? Thank you so much for your opinion about my kites. I do hope that God gives me an opportunity to go to your home land "Illinois" and have the pleasure to fly our kites toghether.

Hector, Welcome!

I'm happy to see yet another 'doer' here and happy to meet yet another flier.

God willing, we will all be able to get together somewhere where the wind blows at a very clean and steady 10mph...

Absolutely LOVE the spider kite... Love it...

Hi Hector, welcome to the club.

Your kites are very kwel, I really like your version of a vented kite very orginal. Just wondering did you sew the little pieces together or hav a solid piece and cut out the holes afterwards? I am sure you have gotten some wild looks with that one. Again very KWEL!!

I second what you said about Mike, I met him two years ago out at Grand Haven and have been very happy to be able to call him a friend too.

Hope to be able to meet and fly with you someday too.
