Blown Cell Repair on Parafoil

Several years ago I got a 2m Pansh Ace on ebay. When it finally got here I took it out and it looked like a flying black hotdog landed it and found that it had 4 terribly blown cells. I chatted with the seller and we both agreed that they could keep the shipping and I would get refunded the rest. I got some ripstop nylon and put it in the corner. Well I finally got it out and started working on it. I found on some of the kite making sites that to finish the last cell you roll up the kite sew the cell and flip it right side out. I then started with rolling the ends of the kite put my arm in the vent of a blown cell and turned it inside out.

Thanks for posting the detailed info & photos - that makes all the difference to someone inexperienced at these sorts of things. I have yet to sew an actual framed kite . . . even repairing a foil would probably fold my brain into knots before I got started . . . .

We really need to do a rok building party this winter. I am itching to give it a go myself.

We can do it. All we need is a place (hint, hint Big Mike).
I'll do the same thing I did last time: order the materials ahead of time and talk everyone through the sewing of their very own Rok.

The repair looks good. The first time you do a "burrito" roll, it's a little disconcerting. Looks like you didn't have any problems.

Welcome to IKE and the forum. And, thanks for posting pictures of your repair.

Cheers,
Tom

The first one was a little ruff once I got to the last one of the four it was much easier.
Just made a NASA parawing 9b last week it seems like it works pretty good.
What is a rok? Will have look it up.
Thank you for checking out my post!

No hints needed. LOL...Didn't we do a ROK last time? Is that what everyone wants to do? I am game for it, just checking, we can hold it in our building as we did last time. Now decisions...project? and dates?

Come on you guys ... get a room ... or at least a new thread. I'm in for a new class ... maybe Jamie will finally finish his ROK.

Cheers,
Tom

Does that mean doing another Rok or something new?
Whatever it is, it should be able to completed in one day.

I would like to do A rok but I won't complain too much as long as we stick with a kite. Another idea would be a banner?? be cool to have a couple more to put up at fests. Just a thought.
