Rev Screen Repair

For years I have been repairing leading edge screen by undoing the stitching and replacing the old screen with new. BIG JOB

No more.......For the past year or so I simply sew a section of new screen on the BACK of the kite, sewing along the top, bottom and ends of the new screen. I then cut away the old screen from the front side. This method holds very well, and the only thing you see from the air is where the screen is double for 3/8 of an inch at each end of the repair. (from 100 feet away, you don't even see that)

Just like a two color applique.

It is not necessary to replace a whole section. Partial screen repairs are just fine.

I use the "three stitch zig zag". The same stitch that Rev uses.

Each section of repair only takes a few minutes.

Try it, you'll like it.

Good tip, Jim.
I would also add: don't ignore a small tear and fix it soon!
I had a couple small tears in my LE screen and when I flew it in the ocean at H.B. the force of the water tore the whole thing out.
Replacing the whole screen is a pain.

Someday, I'm going to actually have to learn how to sew.

Jeff...

By all means, learn how to sew. I did.

I can also cook very well. I wash windows, dust, and can do the laundry.

I should make someone a good wife someday. Don't cha think? :rotfl

Hey Jim...just do the sewing...That would be enough for everybody. (I may bring to you one of my revs. that needs repair.)
