Spar weights
Spar weights
Hey Mike, do you still have those weights on the Rev spars, and sails? And if you get time, could you post weights on the line sets also?
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Re: Spar weights
This is my measurements of my kites. Your mileage may vary.
Weights of 1.5 Sails without spars, with bridles and endcaps:
Vented w/ OR wo/mylar: 165g
Std w/mylar: 143g
SUL all cloth: 113g
Weights of 1.5 wingtip spars (outer leading edge):
Rev Equipped 4 wrap 23g
Ultra Light 3 wrap 18 g
Professional Use 2 wrap 14g
SLE Rev Equip 4 wrap 36g
SLE Ultra Light 3 wrap 25g
There are variations within each category. Both the length and weight of supposedly the same spars vary somewhat.
I don't think I have the same length linesets on the same winders with the same sleeving to be able to weigh them easily. It would be interesting to compare though.

Re: Spar weights
Ha Ha Hector,
yeah, you'll have to go over the dual section to talk about that kind of weights they add for doing tricks.
Here we are concerned about weight so that our kites can fly well in light winds.

Re: Spar weights
Oh yeah, I forgot they add weights to dual lines now

It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Hey Dan, welcome to Illinois Kite Enthusiasts (read; we even allow dualies
)
Long time, no see, lokking forward to flying with you again. By the way, I've been working on my juggling

Re: Spar Weights
It's great to be here! Any chance you can make it out to Kite Party this February? That may be the next flying I get in. Very cool that you're juggling. Maybe we can work up some passing next time we see each other. Mike can give you your first lessons, right Mike?
Re: Spar weights
I tried remembering how to pass, but I forgot how we did it exactly.
Dan, we'll get you up here in the Spring or maybe Grand Haven.
Also, we'll be making Roks this winter. Maybe you'll want to come up with your sewing machine.
Rok battle in the snow!
