*DOG STAKE*

Hi Fellows!
I've had a terrific week... I'm doing real good in my new job, everybody seems content with my performance, there is lot to learn and do, my experience in the field is making things flow very easy, and I like my fellow co-workers, to whom I talked about KITES and everybody is interested in finding out some more, I think a couple of them will be introduced to one of the dark sides :P
And today Saturday I went with my family to Huntington Beach to test my NEW DOG STAKE... and after a few trials and error I had a pretty good bunch of people watching my Horrendous debut, and I don't know if they were aplauding or laughing, but in any case, it was fun, very, very confusing, very dificult, and frustating. but I will continue practicing and who knows I may be able to show off in February at the Kite Party.
I am uploading some pics.
Hmmm let me resize them.
Notice my daughter's doll on the left bottom, it's cute.

After my first encounter with DOG STAKING, I think I am going to make another design. The way I did the first one I feel that it drags too much on the rings, and I could not figure out how many turns I had gone to one side or the other; and it was difficult, so...probably next week I will introduce my complete new DOG STAKE DESIGN.
And of course, practice, practice, practice...there is nothing wrong with the actual design... is the pilot who is not very saby on this matters :(

tghat was the same problem I had... then I konked myself on the head...

You need at least 100' lines to start with as far as I'm concerned and a stiff, steady wind.... you need to be able to stand in one spot... you need to suspend reality and your concept of left/right... it was a trip...

I may try again.... maybe...

:ditto I had so many twists in my lines it took for EVER to unwind them!!   Surly made me think twice about trying it again!! Very confusing to say the least. I also agree, the longer the lines the better. 120 would be best, that way you are working with 75ft at the split.

Very cool Hector! John Baressi suggests wearing eye protection when you are learning!
I also enjoyed the photos of blue sky and palm trees (it's 16 degrees with wind chill outside right now)

maybe a kevlar vest and dickie also, never too much protection

The first time I tried dog staking some yahoo walks by and tells me what an idiot I was because that was the wrong way to fly a stunt kite.
