Well, we probably don't need another thread on kite stakes, but the forum activity has been a bit slow lately, so . . .

I made another one:

And here are the "door prizes" that I had for the retreat:

Looks like the picture upload is back online!

I bought Peggy, my wife, one of the fancy stakes from www.kitestakes.com for her birthday, just because I thought it was fun and silly to have such a fancy kite stake!

Thanks, 11, for the "door prize." I used it at our rescheduled OSOW fly last Sunday.

No problem. You're all welcome! Glad people are enjoying them.

Here's another picture of the new one . . .

Who shrank Wicket the dog or photoshopped my stake to make it look big?

Thanks for letting me try those new handles. They were great for the 20mph winds we had yesterday!

Steve, what did you use for the knob? It looks really neat.

Thanks. It's a stone "marble" - and it's four inches across. The spike is a 1/2 inch diameter steel rod I got at Lowes. I drilled the hole with a couple masonry bits on a drill press. The first 1/4 inch pilot hole took forever, but the 1/2 inch hole was relatively easy. I found the "marble" at a Goodwill store, so I have no idea where to get more.

Yeah, I feel like Crocodile Dundee when I pull that one out . . .
