Anyone in there?
Am I the only one here with foils?

No, you're not. There are some members who have them, but they don't post much on the forum.
I don't have any dual or quad line foils . . . . . yet. Too much fun flying revs . . . . .

Re: Anyone in there?
Well, I guess the wind hunting is a lot easier due to much lower speeds being required to fly, but I don't think I'll ever get over the way a powerkite pulls!

Re: Anyone in there?
I've been thinking of getting one for winter flying. Would seem to be quick to assemble and disassemble with cold fingers.
Possibly the Prism 1.9 Snapshot.

Re: Anyone in there?
I had a Symphony 1.3 and a Thunderfoil 2.4 -- had lots of fun with them. I think I'll get a Symphony again. Really fast and very responsive little guy.

The smallest one that I'd buy, knowing what I know now vs. when I bought my symphony tr, is a 2.2. Tried one before I got my 2.5 Symphony Speed, and for what it is, the Beach 2.2 is a pretty good foil. It's not a trainer power kite like my Rush Pro IV 350, but still fun.

Re: Anyone in there?
I have the symphony 1.3 , a snapshot 2.5 (favorite) and a tensor 5.0. The snapshot is the smallest convertBle 2-4 line control. He Nair feels like you tied it to a passing car, but still makes me smile every time I enter the window!

Re: Anyone in there?
I'm with ya! I love the pull of the dual line foils too. I'm hooked on Symphony kites. They've been solid kites for me and I've had good luck flying them. I bought a 1.8 about 8 years ago and love flying it in the strong winds.
A month ago, I bought a Symphony Pro 2.2 Rainbow because I wanted a stronger pulling kite. I saw some videos of the Symphony 2.5 on YouTube and it looked like with a strong wind, it was dragging the fliers around. I'm not a young guy anymore and I'm recovering from back surgery so I decided 2.5 would be too much for me. Yea, they are a blast to fly!

Steve, I got a 4m Ozone trainer I could bring. You wanted to try it. Just have to be careful of the wind speed. It's not for kids.

Uh oh . . . . what to do when "your wish is granted." Hang on, sounds like. We'll stick to low winds . . .
Not sure yet when I'm going to be there. Will depend on what my son wants to do (and he has a soccer game Sat morning).

Bringing the Tensor 5.0, A 34' Bol and Nemo w/ the sled 81. I had to buy a new pickup truck just to hall this stuff. Jeep wasn't cutting it any more.

Bol races?
You know you have a kite "problem" when you have to buy a trailer for kites . . . . .

That's a kite addiction.

I only have a snapshot 1.2 that the wife and kids use.
I work with wheelchair customers and just began searching you tube for videos. Yesterday brought it up to two customers and they were EXTREMELY EXCITED. Now I just need to find a way to anchor the chairs :)
I figure a 1.2 would be perfect for them... INDESTRUCTIBLE and cheap. then we jump to Revs... and cookies!

Why anchor the chair? I see a new beach buggy/chair sport startng up.

i was thinking the same thing!
Re: Anyone in there?
I've taught folks in wheelchairs to fly Revs, but the one time I saw a guy in a wheelchair try a power kite it pulled him out of the chair and on the ground. He though it was pretty funny and no harm was done :)

Watching the forecasts diligently of late (about every 12 hours or so), and looks like the Dunes are basically going to have slight winds, if at all anything above 5mph winds.
...hoping this goes up a tiny bit as it is the bottom of all of my kites useable wind range.
Ah well...

You can't trust the forecast more than 36 hours in advance. See how it goes. We'll have plenty of kites to share if that's the case. Come on out anyway and give ours a try. It's a good way to see what you like, fly them and learn without having to buy them.
