The characters ride on subways, both real and metaphorical. How the story should have ended is with Ichigo finally overcoming his inner struggle and combining his Shinigami and Hollow powers into one complete entity, which would give him the power to defeat Aizen and then bam, end of the show. I can't put Arata on that level -- at least not yet, after one season -- but I still had a pretty good time with it. So I can't say that I got out of this show what I was hoping to get when I started watching it. Its biggest weakness is the filler, and if you can stand to sit through it in the real episodes and you just skip the episodes that are entirely filler, you should be able to get by and enjoy it on some level.
