Re: Higher Wind Rev Advice Wanted

... I think this rig needs a black bridle. Does anyone make those? ... If Mike doesn't have one, you might give Lolly a call at Revolution. She goes out of her way to help Rev folks and might be able to come up with one for you. Or, you can buy some black bridle line (Big Mike might be able to help...

Hmmm ... if you're getting your feet wet while flying a Rev, might I suggest that you're doing it wrong ... it's the kite that's supposed to go in the water!! Cheers and welcome to the club. ... It's a matter of personal preference. ... That phrase is a master description of ALL things kiting! Lines: The Fosters assemble their Rev kite, attach the lines and unwind towards the handles. When finished flying, they detach the lines, disassemble the kite and wind the lines up towards the ha...

Re: Modern day sewing machines

Oh wow, an easier question would be what should I be looking for in a future spouse!! Here's the path I've taken: My first few kites were built with a hand-me-down 1970's Kenmore machine. Those kites were smaller in size and everything went well with the sewing. Once I started building 75 sq ft and ...

... (Recommend me some better gloves other than my old gardening gauntlets.) ... Even a 15 sq ft kite can burn you in a split second with a wind gust. Since line burns hurt like crazy, wearing gloves is a great idea. One of my friends ended up in the emergency room at the last kite festival due to ...

One of the things I've never thought about with a tornado is where the broken glass ends up. Seems it gets imbedded in the soil ... duh. One of the neighborhood parks in the direct path of the tornado had to have all the sod, mulch, and playground equipment removed because of the abundance of glass ...

Another person to check with is Tony Killip. His website is OurKitesFly dot com. He has been flying the 30 foot Clown Fish for several years now. Tony is also a member of this forum, so you could hook up via a PM ... akillip. As to sand anchors: All I've ever used is Gomberg's large (3 foot sq) sand...

Re: IKE Fall Winter Sewing Something Session?

Good decision Mike. I remember returning home after the last sewing session with weather like this. I knew it was slippery, but still ended up stopping about 40 yards PAST the first stop sign. Luckily it was out in the country with no traffic. The scariest part was approaching Washington. We have a ...

NewEgg ... $29.99 re-certified or $69.99 brand new. However, there are some newer dual band routers on the market that I would replace it with if purchasing today.

The rules at my son's house are good grades buy time on Minecraft ... works well with Hunter.

Re: The passing of Windows XP

Thanks for the info guys. As part of the trickle down process in our family, my grand son received his mother's semi-old laptop. He plays Minecraft hour after hour. None of us really want him doing it on our computer 'cuz he's too trusting an individual. We usually have to dump a number of junk prog...

The passing of Windows XP

In case you've missed it, Windows XP will stop being supported come April 8th of this year. If you're doing your taxes on an XP machine, it looks like your filing date just moved up a week. Wonder who in Microsoft picked that date to end support? I decided to update my desktop machine with a new one...

Re: IKE Fall Sewing Something Session?

Another follow up . . . questions for Jeepster: 1) Do we need edge binding material, or are the edges just hemmed? From the picture, I think they are just hemmed, and reinforcements appear to use the same fabric. 2) What strength line do you need for the kite? I'm guessing the "micro" doe...
