Re: Short Quad Line Sets

I think personal taste has a lot to do with it.
Having said that, I think anyone can get used to 50' very quickly and 35' feels short, but flyable to me.
When they fly indoor, they are flying the same sized kite on 15' or less.

Re: 120' lines

I think both Ken and Babbman have both bought 1000' bulk line from Dave. Maybe they would sell you their extra line. Or you could pay them to make you up a lineset. Or perhaps, what might be more your way of doing things, maybe you could trade some computer hardware/expertise for a line set.

Flyin' in the Snow

For those of you who think I never fly when it's cold. http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/album/b68148800a2b45d2f5fe81178650beab.jpg The local newspaper took the photo and then the AP picked it up and I heard from people in different parts of the country. Because the white string doesn't show against the...

Quad pairs routine

Here's a good example of the kind of flying you can do with 120' lines.

Re: 120' lines

They also make it easier to hold a position in the sky. The lines are so stretchy they absorb a lot of the gusts. Fly the 75' lines for speed and snappy moves, the 120' for slower more precise looking moves. The lines we flew in the gusty winds at the last club fly also stretched around 3 inches on ...

I just added an "album" link to the top of the page.
I found I kept having to bounce around the forum to get to the album. This should be easier.

Re: IKE Logo Kite. Don't make it this way...

If you're feeling brave, I guess you could applique the logo on your existing vented rev. Maybe replace the area where it says revolution. It's kinda hard to work around the vents.
It might look good on our red and black venteds.

Re: New (old) machine

To play fair, here's the cover of my manual: http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/album/facd284d4324764c76e5f5d0acc4402e.jpg In those days, I don't think Sears, in their wildest imagination, ever thought a couple of macho guys like ourselves would be using their product. On your machine, what's that pin on...

That's some good flying mi amigo! You've been practicing since Seal Beach and you've already learned that "ladder" up move.Great show. It's too bad you can't make that trip out to here like you originally planned. It would be fun to have you fly with the group. It's great to see you obviou...

Re: IKE Logo Kite. Don't make it this way...

The rok idea would be the easiest since it already has the bridle attachments in the right place. It would be slightly different dimensions from a standard rok. The triangle would be relatively smaller. But I may got that way. I have little clear mylar I could use too. I though about a delta too. Th...

IKE Logo Kite. Don't make it this way...

I wanted to make a kite with our logo, and since the logo is square, I wanted a square kite. I could have done a della porta but I didn't want the X of the spars to be seen behind the white kites. Plus the reinforcements for the center bridle would in the middle of the word "ike" Another w...

If you click on the "main links" on the left hand side you'll see a bunch of choices, one of which is "album"
Maybe we could put another link somewhere else that would be easier to find.

That is a great kite. Is that Huntington Beach in the background?
That's the kite that caught my attention and is what caused me to introduce myself to you in H.B.
